When you hear " RISK ", and you should take calculated risks, this is what they mean. No one knows the outcome of a thing till they attempt it. You have gotten to that age where you see the real deal that puts good money in the pocket. Those two courses are top-notch! Make up your mind and go for the one you have greater passion for.
If you really did the ALX without copying and pasting, you shouldn't be choosing either from medicine or tech. It means you don't have passion for it. Go for medicine.

You have not told us if you will have to resign from your government job to be able to pursue a career in medicine. That is the most important information we need to know. |

inicyril: Hello family! My future is posing so much threat to my mental well-being and calls for serious help. I've always been of the school of thought that decisions burdening on one's future should be the product of the person's deep thinking and not advice on social media platforms. Alas I was wrong!
THIS IS MY SITUATION I would be 34 by February next year. I am a graduate of Biochemistry and I have been working as a teacher in a state government owned secondary School for the past 3 years. Growing up, I've been passionate about studying medicine but couldn't due to financial constraints. When I got my present job in 2021, the passion started coming back gradually but I ignored it and opted for a side hustle in software engineering. Late last year I got enrolled into alx software engineering program. I'll be done by the 22nd of this month. I've learnt a lot and acquired a lot of skills as well. Despite this, the passion still keeps staring at me. The issue here is, at my age is: 1. Is it a great idea going back to school to study medicine? 2. Should I go for computer science so as to boost my chances in the field of software engineering? 3. Or should I settle for PGD in education, then masters, to encourage my career growth in my present job?
I NEED SERIOUS ADVICE PLEASE.
Why not do msc in the line of data science , cybersecurity or software development. You already have a path...follow it Sometimes, dream isn't enough. Build on reality, build on what you have |

Whether you go back to school or not, in 6 years time you'll still be 40 years old. Why not just be a 40yrs old medical doctor instead of a 40yrs old you as you are now? 2 Likes |

. Guy just prepare yourself and go for medicine and surgery. I study the same biochemistry which I graduated 2011. But I later worked for 7 years, saved money and guess what! I'm now in my 4th year medical school ( medicine and surgery). Biochemistry is nonsense. Remember nobody will pay your bills. You will face reject from every angle, even your family members will mock you but never mind anyone. Zero your mind about anything relationship till you finish preclinical. Getting a woman from a medical school will shape your future. Save you from modern hook up ladies . A medical doctor is entitle to many things. Age is not a barrier. I have 45 and even 52 years students in my class 2 Likes 1 Share |

danzaki63: Going back to school at any age is not an issue, the issue is your capbility , capacity and passion. The best decision is left for you, there are still of missing informations. Do you have the requirements for Medicine? Do you have the Financial wherewithal for the 6 years? school fess, books internship ? Is your Brain still sharp? You are in a better position to choose from the options you gave us. . You really hit the point. He must have financial muscle and well groomed academically to make the move. I did the same biochemistry but later got medicine and surgery after working for 7years. I was financially comfortable but that didn't discourage me. When I left my place of work, I was mocked from all angle even my family members but today I'm in my 4th year going for 5th. Though, my businesses are really shaking but I know what I'm pursuing. So, save money and be ready to be mocked even in your class but medicine is a lifetime surebet. |
