Thanks every body for your various contributions. the truth is that i have gotten the answer to my confused question. the truth is that P.H is patialy igboland, the ikwerres (igbos) own most of the land in P.H. BELIEVE IT OR NOT this is the real truth.

The ikwerres don,t want to be igbos,na by fox.Rivers is a state, PH is just a capital, it belong to any one who is From Rivers State.you guys will claim anything but 419,drug dealers,ritualist fake drugs, Smugling cars and cocaine.

No one is trying to steal Lagos from you, people from all ethnic nationalities should be treated as equals in Lagos. You can't say One Nigeria with exceptions when it suits you.

Dr. Clark's comments of recent have been quite interesting, when Celestine Omehia (the 'ikwerre'/'rivers Igbo' guvnor) said he wanted to demolish all the 'waterside' dwellings, Dr. Clark claimed that the Ijaw 'aborigines' have been dwelling at this waterside long before the actual 'creation' of P/H as we know it today, and are basically the 'original inhabitants' of the area.

Honestly, I don't care and I do not know much about the issue. Every Nigerian should have equal rights anywhere in the federation, PH and Lagos included regardless of ethnic background. You know, the right to vote and be voted for, own property, rights to economic participation and etcetera.

I do not really wish to listen to what Mr. Clark or Omehia have to say, especially the old man Clark. What kind of Nigerian name is Clark anyway? He should be upset with his great grandfather for accepting a foreign name and leave the residents of PH alone.

Here we go again!! Who is complaining of inequality? And who has been accorded unequal treatment?

All people are saying is that, when you come to a place, kindly accord the hosts some courtesy and relate with them on the basis of mutual respect. Period. You cannot go there and claim it is a no man's land, simply because at one time it was a federal capital. Those who were indigenes and lived there before it became a capital, nko? Did they become extinct, all of a sudden? And since it stopped being a federal capital, have those indigenes and their descendants moved, disappeared or gone into oblivion? Can a Kanuri man go to Onitsha and claim it is a no man's land, because it is the commercial gateway to the South-east?

It is like Christopher Columbus saying he discovered America, or Mungo Park saying he discovered River Niger. So what were the natives who lived on the banks on the river, doing? Folding their arms and waiting to be discovered?

Last time I checked, no one was preventing any Nigerian from owning property in Lagos. Go to the land registry in Alausa and see the names of those who have applied for Certificates of Occupancy, or title deeds to properties in Lagos. They cut across the length & breadth of all ethnic groups in Nigeria. So this issue of some folks whining about lack of property rights & inequality in Lagos, is nothing but sheer childishness.

The same people that claim Lagos is a no man's land, earn a living from there, and shout that it is a capital so therefore everyone has equal rights there, are the same folks that will go on cyberspace to spew filth about how people of the South-west especially those in Lagos, are thoroughly bad. As a non-Yoruba person who has spent several years in Lagos, such comments make me wanna puke.

Who forced you to come to Lagos and live there? Pack your bags and head back to your village, if you can't stand the people there, or you hate their language. Period!

We're all Nigerians, I should have as much claim to any place in Nigeria as anybody from any other ethnic group, end of story. If this is not the case, then you will have to redefine what it means to be Nigerian. There's no reason why a Yoruba man born outside of Lagos can become Governor while an Efik born in Lagos cannot, what is the reasoning behind that?

Reason why Nigeria will never get above ethnic interests. If you want to become One country, you really have to ask yourself what it means to be ONE!

Maybe in 300 yrs. . . we are too 'backward' to reason that way at the moment.
