"senator" Remi Tinubu's Election Annulled By Election Tribunal. Re-run Ordered! by djustice: 10:40pm On Nov 01, 2011 |
Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu's election was cancelled today at the election tribunal, following a petition brought before it by Dapo Durosinmi-Etti of the Labour Party. Looks like PDP have got this one sewn up, following the fiasco that was the LG elections, still fresh in the minds of Lagosians, especially after today's PDP protest in Ikeja!! Wow!! I thought they said PDP is not popular in Lagos? Come and see crowd, plus massive traffic in the Mobolaji Bank Anthony area. I had to park my car and use Okada to get where I was going. Even Okada sef could not get past them. We had to face on-coming traffic on Mobolaji Bank-Anthony. Hair raising stuff!! |

I am an ACN supporter so far, but if Remi Tinubu loses then so be it. The only good politicians are those who know their limits within the law and stick to it or who are kept in check. Politicians should not make governance into a family affair. However, if the choice is between PDP and Remi Tinubu - the people of Lagos should go with Remi Tinubu. Not only does PDP make governance into a family affair they are the epitome of pocketing the people's money, hopes, plans and aspirations. jmaine: |

djustice: Djustice, which election was cancelled? The appeal court ordered the case back to the tribunal. Remi Tinubu won by over 70% of the votes and by the way when did Dapo Durosinmi-Etti become a PDP man? http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2011/11/01/remi-tinubu-vs-etti-tribunal-orders-retrial/ |

koruji: Thanks for clarifying your position and am not against it . . .we all tilt towards certain parties for different personal reasons koruji: The emboldened qoute(s) above and below is an embodiment of the ACN in Lagos, and a reason for our current discussion . . . More of a one man show dictating who gets what and from where . . . So your proposition is laced with a biased partisan tilt . . . .Bruv, Lagosians are beginning to look beyond the ACN . . People ascribe ACN sweep in the SW region more to Tinubu, than the unique desire of the SWners to booth out poor performing leaders, thus switching to the next formidable opposition perceived to show delivery promise . . .The same fate that befell the defunct AD, and the PDP is dawning on the ACN party in Lagos . . . .The drums of dissent is spreading so wild and it will only take Tinubu to tow the line of thuggery just like the recently held L.G.A elections. A path reminiscent of his previous battles with the PDP . . .and we all know such route does not last long in the SW region . . . koruji: |

My main point is that PDP is not an option for the peope of Lagos - if they want another party instead of ACN, it cannot be PDP. Otherwise, the "complains" they are making now will turn into crying and gnashing of the teeth in no time. This is what PDP did to states in the SW, and losing the SW has not changed how PDP behaves in other states under PDP's rule and at the center. The entire point is that while Tinubu may be larger than life, ACN as a party is light-years ahead of PDP. ACN can make corrections, PDP was born ill-formed and cannot be made whole. It is PDP that needs to go down. PDP's strength is its corrupt foundation. AD went down, not because it was not better than PDP but because of high-level deception. Do I need to describe to you what PDP did to the states it stole from AD? The people of Lagos needs to remember history and run from PDP. Enough word for the wise. jmaine: |

^ Will you kill Lagosians if they vote PDP? I've never seen so much crap in a single post. ACN has dug its own grave and is happily climbing in; emotions will not save it either. Any group led by a criminal and a coterie of thugs will only act true to type over time and thats whats going on with ACN. |

@ Koruji ^ You wrong, the ACN machinery in Lagos is becoming the PDP we all love to hate . . , . The April poll revealed that people looked beyond the party but the individuals . . . . Fashola contesting in any party whether PDP, Labour would have smashed any opposition . .so don't be fooled thinking Lagosians are party blind people . . . . Like i said . . .The wave of dissent against the ACN is rising . . .whichever party that produces a candidate who the people feel they can give their mandate . . . Then so shall it be, unless another sham election just like the hotly contested L.G.A polls is re-enacted . . .But the goodnews is . . .The electorates are now alert and any attempt would mirror the Ekiti gubernatorial rerun where violence was met with equal violence from both the incumbent and the opposition . . . If PDP is their choice . .who are you to tell them what to do . . . . cos the ACN in Lagos has been unmasked as just another political party with a self aggrandizement project . . . The people hold the power . . . .though it may tarry . . .the people wish would always prevail, be it the ACN, PDP or any other party . . . |

koruji: The more fool you then. Have you not seen the video of the Badagry LG polls announcement, where PDP was declared the winning party by your own LASIEC officials, despite the threat to their lives? Walahi, that woman has more balls in her little finger than all the idddiaaats here and in the ACN licking Tinubu's arse in public and grumbling in secret. Did heavens fall when she announced the authentic result? The people of Badagry, Eti-Osa, Alimosho, Ikorodu, Epe, Mushin and others that voted PDP, are they not Lagosians? I see the Tinubu god complex is afflicting you too. Better wake up and smell the cocaine. Lagosians have wised up to your tricks and rascality. ACN are the ones who are NEVER likely to win another election in this Lagos State again. CPC and APGA will get more votes than ACN in 2015. And if a rerun is ordered in Lagos Central, Mrs. Tinubu will LOSE to PDP. Go and write this down. So gbo?? |

And I told you that you were jumping the gun. Wait till the court weighs in. That is the path of the law. What you are yet to tell me is why PDP will win an election over ACN in Lagos. All those other statements are just that, your opinion. The body of work of ACN's few states are light-years ahead of PDP's many states and being at the center for donkey years. But again, I am talking to PDP agents - why should I expect you to be thinking about what's best for Lagos djustice: |
Re: "senator" Remi Tinubu's Election Annulled By Election Tribunal. Re-run Ordered! by koruji(m): 1:16am On Nov 02, 2011 |
Deceivers would like you to believe the that the person matters more than the party. How is it then that PDP keeps finding the worst administrators to get into positions of power? It is because the basic framework of PDP is for corrupt people and do-no-gooders. The party can destroy the person, but it is hard for an entire party to go bad due to the acts of one person. Hence, a Fashola within PDP would be consumed by the innately selfish and corrupt interests underlying the PDP agenda. Go ahead and sell the snake-oil called PDP to the people of Lagos if you like, but if they know what's good for them they will avoid PDP like a plague - because that is what PDP has brought to Nigeria for the last 16 years. jmaine: |

@Kuroji: Please understand that Dapo Etti who is creating all this wahala doesn't care if he wins or not. His goal is to make sure that Remi Tinubu (of Ogun state) doesn't represent Lagosians in Abuja. FYI Dapo Etti was one of very powerful ACN members in Lagos state up until Bola Tinubu pushed his wife into Lagosians' throat to contest for the 2011 Eti Osa senatorial election. Dapo met with Oga Tinubu 1 on 1 to discourage him from deceptively imposing his wife on Lagosians, but Oga Tinubu refused to listen. Exactly 3 days after the meeting Dapo Etti publicly came out to announce that he was leaving ACN for Labour party, on that same day he also made it clear that he was contesting against Remi Tinubu (the idea was to get ACN votes divided into 2). I can assure you that Dapo Etti loyalist in Lagos state will not vote for Remi Tinubu; and once this happens, ACN votes will be divided into 2, which will automatically put PDP on top at the end of the day. Again, Dapo Etti doesn't care if he wins or loses. His main goal is to see the end of Tinubu's exploitation of Lagos state, by first making sure that Remi Tinubu doesn't represent Lagosians in Abuja. Without any questions, this is a good news for PDP in Lagos state. |
Re: "senator" Remi Tinubu's Election Annulled By Election Tribunal. Re-run Ordered! by koruji(m): 1:33am On Nov 02, 2011 |
I hope the people of Lagos would know better. As I mentioned above making governance into a family affair is to be seriously discouraged. Tinubu may be on the road to a silly God-Complex, and the confrontation with Dapo Etti is indeed a welcomed development. Now, Dapo Etti, if the real reason he was contesting is to be on the side of the people of Lagos, needs to do everything in his power to win the election rather than give it to PDP - because he himself will live to regret it. There is no basis in my opinion for anybody to go voting for PDP in any election. Depilot: |

Re: "senator" Remi Tinubu's Election Annulled By Election Tribunal. Re-run Ordered! by Depilot(m): 2:00am On Nov 02, 2011 |
2015 brings a clean slate for ACN and PDP governorship candidates. Without any questions, Babatunde Fashola who happens to be one of the best governors around today still represents the key to ACN governorship election victory in Lagos state in 2015. Whoever he endorses may end up with the victory. And if he decides not to endorse any candidate, the battle becomes even tougher for ACN party in Lagos state. The sooner toothless Tinubu realizes this fact the better it will be for ACN in Lagos state. LD Speculations PDP is determined to capture Lagos state in 2015 @ all cost. The strategy may be designed for Tinubu to be in jail during the election. therefore, the longer Tinubu stretches his case the better it will be for PDP. |

You are the crazy one - you think GEJ is your god. Let me remind you of what I said many months ago, which I kind of said already on this threat today (you didn't see it because you read blindfolded - but look below): The best politician deserves only 49% of your trust. And here is what I said in my first comment on this thread: koruji: My whole point is that Lagos voting for PDP is like agreeing to an infection with leprosy as a cure to ringworm. I hope you can tell the difference. So go choke on your realization and uneviable task of defending GEJ who is proving to be a GREAT disappointment. Beaf: |
Re: "senator" Remi Tinubu's Election Annulled By Election Tribunal. Re-run Ordered! by koruji(m): 2:16am On Nov 02, 2011 |
This is one reason I support ACN still. I believe that rather than stubbornly hold on to what is glaringly not right (the way PDP does) the leadership would adjust to better match the people's wishes. The rule of succession for any successful organization is for the best young hands to take over from older hands. Tinubu would do well for his legacy to prepare Fashola to take over his role, and Fashola would do well to clean his hands of anything that could be used against him. As there is light and day, PDP will come after him if he holds firm against them - that is essentially the reason they are after Tinubu; they really have nothing concrete against him. Depilot: |

I'm glad not to be stup1d enough to be a supporter of any party. Nigeria remains my only party; ie, my patriotism remains intact for Nigeria (Africa) and not for any substandard senseless political party in Nigeria. I admire Fashola (ACN). Ajimobi (ACN) is another individual I'm starting to study. Amechi (PDP) is also trying his best. But if you give me my way I will choke Tinubu (ACN) until his eye balls come out of the socket. I will drown Akala (PDP) until he drinks 2000 gallons of water and soak Gbenga Daniel (PDP) with petrol and set him on fire. My point, we should never allow these criminals to continue to hide behind political party, while they steal more and use us as they desire. Vote for great leaders and never for any party, and Nigeria will be a better place faster. |
Re: "senator" Remi Tinubu's Election Annulled By Election Tribunal. Re-run Ordered! by koruji(m): 2:31am On Nov 02, 2011 |
Hey, don't call me stup1d now!!!!! But that is your stup1d opinion It should be clear that my support for any party is not absolute. However, you cannot deny that if we are going to get to a democracy that will work for Nigerians parties will have to provide the framework. There is a reason why, despite people's claim of lack of internal democracy, ACN with only six states has a higher count of "good" governors than you can count out of PDP's 20-something states and after 16 years at the center. It boils down to my earlier statement: A party can destroy an individual no matter how good, but an individual would find it difficult to destroy a good party. Not that I think any of them have done all that could be done to improve Nigeria - but in relative terms ACN governors are way-ahead of PDP. At this point I believe ACN is a reasonable party. The day that assessment changes is the day I withdraw support - but I would not go to PDP unless an angel comes down and clears out its entire rotten structure. Depilot: |

Just like you, I hate PDP more than anything else; all their governors are nothing but lowlife armed robbers, that need to be locked up for a very long time. On the other hand, people like Tinubu, Aregbesola and many other ACN criminals are not too far from PDP. Both parties share the same backward qualities and it will be the beginning of a great thing in Nigeria as soon as citizens begin to realize this fact. As far as I'm concerned it is sad and extremely pitiful for anyone of us in Nigeria to step up to show-off or to claim any party. What is on ground is pathetic enough for all of us to cover our faces. Support great leaders and don't waste your time supporting any party, and Nigeria will be a better place faster. |

Good point. But please understand what I meant when I stated that we should focus more on supporting great leaders and not these substandard parties that are killing our great country. This is what I meant: Instead of marrying a party regardless of what we are being fed, it is ok and much better for our country if the citizens come out of the box, evaluate/ identify each leader from all parties and elect the most competent/ promising leaders regardless of which party they belong. I think the same should go for electing our president. This will only speed up the process of moving this country forward. Our leaders need to be challenged, don't allow them to continue to hide behind party line while they indirectly kill Nigerians each and every day. G@ddem! Nigerians are d@mn too smart to allow this rubbish to continue. Wake up guys! Our goal is to bring back our country, and definitely not to be a modern day sycophant. |

While ACN is busy trying to be civil and decent with LG elections in Lagos, in Jigawa ACN was not even allowed to purchase the nomination forms. The problem with non-partisan observers condemning Tinubu is, they really don't have an idea what PDP represents. They need to get involved, like those that worked for CPC in the last elections, before they will be able to appreciate ACN. It's extremely difficult to play opposition role in AFRICA.

Any other party except PDP is ok by me at least for now pending when independent candidates will be allowed. PDP is a devilish, cancerous organisation noted for their failure. The mere fact that they have the RETARDEEN as the leader even spoils the show the more. Hardly can any thing good ever come from PDP(very few and ignorable exceptions do exists though). They have failed this nation since 1999. This disease(PDP) must be expunged nationwide with immediate effect failure of which NIGERIA has a nation can never grow significantly. NB: this are my personal opinions like any other person. WATCH IT !!!!! |

This is Nigeria bruv, where all parties lack a clear distinct political ideology . . . .they are simply the same content in a different bottle having a different concentration . . .with the PDP having highest concentration due to it's large party membership and spread . . . koruji: The PDP bad image is not a surprise if their large party base is taking into cognizance . . . .The large membership the ACN enjoy in Lagos is showing similar trend of oppression . . . embezzlement of funds . . . candidate imposition and poor performing officials foisted against the wishes of the people . . .and you tell us how that is different from the PDP . . .I can place a wager that if the ACN attains the size of the PDP . . .They won't be a difference in their modus operandi with the PDP of now . . .cos of the following reason again . . . "they are simply the same content in a different bottle having different concentrations" . . . . Djustice, Oluremi Tinubu's election win was not "annulled" as you claim. What has happened is that the appeal Court has nullified the ruling of the election tribunal that originally dismissed the petition of the Labour candidate. What has been recommended is that a new tribunal be convened to look at issues again. http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/News/National/5746845-146/story.csp |
