Aregbesola's Unfortunate Aluta Saga by Beaf: 3:15pm On Nov 02, 2011 |
Osun state workers are owed several months salary. Yet their govt was able to effortlessly spend millions sponsoring, transporting and feeding 19 buses of praise singing aluta howlers on a trip from Osun to the venue of Tinubu's case in Abuja. We have heard a tonne of tall tales and high stories from Aregbesola about his govts immense social policies. These social credentials are centred on his OYES programme, which is basically a scheme for graduates to cut grass and sweep the streets for a paltry N10,000. Can someone remind the kind governor that every state has people who cut grass and sweep as a matter of routine? Here's a little secret, social credentials are worthless when you do not care if the people live or die, or are hungry and ill. Aregbesola is owing several months salaries to the long suffering citizens of Osun, yet he could afford to splash out on the hiring of 19 busloads of aluta howlers to go on a worthless praise singing mission to Abuja (where they were simply arrested ). A few questions arise from that aimless aluta trip:
[li]Does Aregbesola value aluta howling more than paying Osun state workers?[/li] [li]How much did it cost Osun state to pay each hired aluta howler?[/li] [li]How much did it cost in loss of time that would have been spent on Osun state affairs instead?[/li] [li]Who owns the 19 buses used? Were they purchased by Osun specifically for useless aluta missions, while workers wages are still owed?[/li] [li]What was the cost of the journey as concerns petrol, tires, servicing etc?[/li] [li]How much did it cost to feed and wine each aluta howler?[/li] [li]What did it cost to house each aluta howler for the useless mission?[/li] [li]What did it cost to bail each aluta howler from police arrest?[/li] [li]Since the howlers have now sued the IG, who is footing the bill and how much is it compared to Osuns unpaid September and October wage bills?[/li] [li]How much govt time is being lost on the worthless case against the IG?[/li] [li]How much govt time is Osun losing, while Aregbesola travels back and forth to Abuja to beg GEJ for the slight?[/li] [li]ABOVE ALL, WHEN WILL OSUN WORKERS GET PAID?[/li]
Yet another imortant question begs for an answer: HOW MUCH DOES THE FACT THAT AREGBESOLA LIVES IN LAGOS COST OSUN STATE IN ORGANISATION, TIME AND MONEY? Now, please can someone account for the billions Osun has received in the past 11 months? Thank you. |

Another very important question. Did Osun state actually buy the buses for the aluta trip, while its workers salaries have been unpaid for the past two months or more? |

Beaf, as much as I always look forward to your post on salient issues, I would have expected you to have outgrown post like this because it doesn't add value to you but rather belittle your status on Nairaland. 1 Like |

Akanbi_edu: Beaf has been one of the most outstanding contributors on issues on Nairaland who I doff my hat for due to his sagacity, tenacity, steadfastness and stance on issues but unfortunately he is becoming another Becomrich with some of his posts of N/L lately. |

The reason for the poster madness of recent isn't far-fetched. its now obvious to all. HE HASN'T BEEN PAID FOR JOB DONE SO FAR Everyone should kindly bear with him. President Goodluck Jonathan is yet to pay his aides salaries six months after he hired them. Those affected are chief of staff, special advisers, senior special assistants, special assistants and personal assistants. http://allafrica.com/stories/201110310922.html |

Kennyblues: Bruv, as much as I come in to contribute; I also hold firm beliefs about what and who are good and bad in todays Nigeria. It is the duty of every citizen to speak up about things and people that have been moulded into the fabric of retrogression in the country. Aregbesola is one of these. Why do you think he is so rabidly defended on NL? Why do you think so many threads are opened to attack those who expose him? We all need to selflessly do our bit for the good and manfully accept any flak; thats the way of the good fight. Thanks for putting in a word. |

Kennyblues: Guy, you introduced the sentiments derailing this thread. You guys should leave Beaf's personality alone and face the real issues!!!! At the risk of losing their lives, Osun people stood by ACN just so they can get a better deal. Is this what ACN has to offer? Promoting rascality at the expense of good governance? Lets call a spade a spade, ACN has fooled SouthWesterners!!!! |

ode remo: Tell them! Quite a few of us think that its ok to avoid matters and haul insults instead. The country is in serious trouble indeed and governors like Aregbesola are there only to misuse the little federal funds that accrue to their states. Osun state is owing 2 months salaries. Yet, the very leaders of tomorrow who should be protecting the interests of the victims of such wickedness are the first to begin screaming insults their are tangential to the issues at hand when I raise the fact that instead of paying workers, Aregbesola possibly wasted millions sending a crowd in a whopping 19 buses, to sing Tinubu's praises. What a waste! Nigerians are Nigeria's worst enemy indeed. |
Re: Aregbesola's Unfortunate Aluta Saga by Beaf: 9:45pm On Nov 03, 2011 |
X-factoria: Word. The question is, are they capable of holding an argument or are they simply acting the part of followers whose leaders go around slapping people? Like leader, like follower. No big surprises. If area boys could pelt the great Gani Fawenhinmi on Tinubu's orders for challenging his fraudulent degree, who am I? These clowns should be ashamed, but such a word doesn't exist for thugs. |
