Hours after the death of Ondo state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, his deputy (now successor), Lucky Aiyedatiwa has removed the signature 'Aketi beard' which gave him an almost identical look like his erstwhile principal.

Aiyedatiwa has been keeping his beard, moustache and hairs on both sides of his cheeks to grow grey looking more as Akeredolu’s look-alike before he was picked as deputy governor in July 2020.

Akeredolu, aged 67, passed away on Wednesday morning while undergoing treatment for prostate cancer in a German hospital. Aiyedatiwa was sworn-in later in the day.

Arriving for his swearing-in, it was notices that Aiyedatiwa has removed the hairs on his side cheeks and left only the ones on his beard and moustache.

A government source told our correspondent that this will be the Governor's look henceforth.
