Obi, visibly moved by the grim situation resulting from recent terrorist attacks and a Christmas day massacre, deemed it "unacceptable" and urged the government to take immediate action.

During his visit, Peter Obi pledged financial support to alleviate the plight of the affected communities. The former presidential candidate committed five million naira to each of the local government areas, Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi, where displaced persons are currently seeking refuge.
