Maybe they'll end birth right citizenship. Few nations still practice it. That would eliminate the future dreamer (children of illegal aliens) issues. When it goes by ancestry, it's very clear. Just look at Nigeria for an example.

Birthright citizenship is enshrined in the constitution and will be very to difficult to knock off. Same with freedom to bear arms.

The republicans will definitely want to knock off birth right citizenship, and Democrats would want to take the guns away. Agreement between both parties is close to impossible.

Republicans must be also ready to trade off something big.

I think it's probably better to relitigate the issue instead if trying to change the constitution. The liberals showed how powerful the Supreme Court is in essentially reinterpreting laws to mean whatever. We witnessed this with abortion being turned into a states right issue.

Only a consensus can make such happen. The constitution is clear and absolutely nothing to relitigate.

You also have to note that, the case of abortion was not enshrined in the constitution and was debatable.

You just proved my point sir. Subject to the jurisdiction of the United States is the key point to address. Illegal aliens like foreign diplomats and tourist can be argued are not subject to political jurisdiction of the United States. Yes they have to obey the laws but not the draft and sitting on juries like citizens are. Litigation on that issue is all they need to do. Most of the case law I heard about doesn't directly speak on illegal aliens.
