Abaribe expressed hope that Tinubu’s government would release Kanu in the interest of national unity and cohesion.

Kanu has been locked up since he was arrested in Kenya and subjected to extraordinary rendition to Nigeria.

The Appeal Court discharged and acquitted Kanu of all terrorism charges.

But the Supreme Court upturned the judgment and ordered a retrial by the Federal High Court.

How can Tinubu intervene in a case the apex court of Nigeria, i.e.supreme Court, has directly stipulated must go to trial? As in Kanu has a case to answer?
