As the year 2023 ended, a non-governmental organization, OKAF Foundation has again put smile of the faces of several numbers of people living in Ikire, Irewole Local Government in Osun state government with food items, sewing machines, and cash gift. Affairs TV reports that this years edition makes it the third time the foundation would do this in the community. It was gathered that the foundation also have scholarship scheme for university students as well we empowerment scheme for business men and women whose business needs resuscitation or those without funds to establish. Affairs TV reports, that beneficiaries at the 2023 edition of the program went away with several bags of rice, cash gift, while two fashion designers were empowered with a brand new sewing machine. Speaking with Affairs TV in Ikire, Osun state on Sunday, Founder of the foundation, Mr Ogundele Kayode Adekunle, noted that the foundation was established to support the Ikire community in different areas, like Education, Poverty alleviation and others. "We established this foundation some years back and we have just one thing in mind while setting up the foundation which is to support our community. "To support our community in the sense that we have education, poverty alleviation and some other segment, we have been doing, not just now, we have been this for a while now and this should be the third but we just formalised it. "I am someone who doesn't believe that we should too much noise about it because as a muslim, you don't have to show the whole world your acts of generosity but then when you are doing something, people still have to know but in this foundation, whatever you are doing in this foundation, I am doing is from personal fund, so now we are looking for support, thats why we have to make it know because people need help. "We have people on our bill in Ikire Mercy Hospital, in the education sector, we have a number of students on our scholarship scheme in different universities", he said. Beneficiaries who spoke to Affairs TV appreciated the gesture while noting that it is the first time OKAF Foundation will support people without sentiment or bias.
