Nigerian singer Akande ‘9ice’ Abolore revealed his initial aspiration to become a lawyer before delving into music, citing struggles with Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s (JAMB) UTME as a hindrance to pursuing a law degree.

In an interview with actress Iyabo Ojo, 9ice disclosed facing nearly six years of setbacks in JAMB exams. He expressed the challenges of aspiring for a legal career in a family unsupportive of music, asserting, “I have always wanted to be a lawyer until now.”




Despite the obstacles, 9ice remains committed to his legal ambitions and envisions a role as an entertainment lawyer. Renowned for hits like ‘Gongo Aso,’ he gained fame in 2008 and later founded the Alapomeji Ancestral Record label.

The artist, known for his Yoruba language prowess and unique delivery, has earned accolades such as MOBO, MTV Africa Music Award, and Nigeria Entertainment Award.
