In a proactive move to address the alleged degree certificate fraud in Togo and Benin, Musa Adamu Aliyu, the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has orchestrated a crucial meeting at the Commission's headquarters in Abuja with the reporter responsible for exposing the malpractice.


A statement issued by Azuka Ogugua, the Director of Press at ICPC, revealed that the purpose of the invitation was to engage in discussions regarding the story published on December 30, highlighting the alleged corrupt practices within a Cotonou university.


The meeting is geared towards not only understanding the intricacies of the reported incident but also to deepen the ongoing investigation and take appropriate actions against those implicated in the certificate scandal.


The investigation, spearheaded by ICPC, has brought to light alarming revelations concerning Ecole Supérieure de Gestion et de Technologies (ESGT) in Cotonou.

The institution allegedly awards degrees within an astonishingly short period of six weeks, circumventing standard academic procedures like application, registration, coursework, and examinations.
