Naija music icon and pop star Dapo Oyebanjo A.K.A  D’banj is set to be honored at the forthcoming  Channel O Music Video Awards 2011 edition. The music icon will receive a special recognition award  on Friday, November 11, 2011, during the awards events

The reason for this special award isn’t far fetched as D’Banj has been nothing but phenomenol in recent years. His sensation albums which includes  No long thing’ (2005), ‘Rundown Funk U Up’ (2006), ‘The Entertainer’ (2008) proves that D’Banj is king of his game. Mr. Endowed put doubters to shame and his collaboration with Mr. Snoop blew everyone’s mind.

D’Banj has left alot of his colleges behind, his hardwork and passion for good music recently earned him an  international record deal US rapper Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music.



A statement released by Leslie ‘Lee’ Kasumba, Channel O Africa Manager explains why D’Banj can wear the crown.

You will recall that in 2008, 2009 and 2010 George Lee, Brenda Fassie and K’Naan were honored respectively. This happens to be a major boost to naija music world.
