The Naija gurl mentality, ... how do we move on when gurlz feel by interracting with a guy you are doing him a favor,

If you aint ready to interract or take diverse opinions why not just stick to your whatsapp status or creat whatsapp group were you will be the lordship

if God humbles the proud then he did not ignore , a better NL is possible but we all need to change

Gudnight

Are you worried you wouldn't be able to troll anymore?

Seun the solution is a block button. People feed on the engagement, likes, reaction and attention. Take that away and watch what happens.

Seun can you imagine coming online to numerous provoking mentions from one individual?? Why can't we have the block button?
Imagine.... it's annoying! There was a time he was in a conversation with someone on a thread I knew nothing about the next I got a mention. I saw him write ".... like Persephone's period... I was disgusted to my bone marrow. Like who on earth is this a****l . I had to call host of mods Seun inclusive to take the post down. It's crazy and this is the guy that's trying to play victim.

I will love the block button too. Abeg! Other guys, we disagree and move on but this one is terrible!

Yes sir. They know the threads that are stickers for political back and forths, attention should be paid to such threads. Threads about drug trafficking and extra-marital affairs usually attract the most tribal and sexist comments respectively.

Reddingtonblack might go crazy if he can't see the posts of females he trolls for a day. That is why when one is offline, he quickly moves to another for engagement. It is disgusting watching him try to play the victim. Even the notorious misogynist are not being dragged like him. That should tell a lot. He gives me numerous mentions in a day and I just personally decided to ignore my mentions. So I haven't read them since November. They can keep mentioning and insulting themselves. I won't even see it. Except I stumble on it while reading a thread.

When Seun is ready to give a block button, we can have a conversation. He should please stop acting like he doesn't know what to do. He does.

You mentioned forum and I showed you another forum with a block option. Now you brought in realism and dynamics. Care to share the reality and dynamics that is on NL and isn't on Reddit which is bigger?

I would love to read your logical exposé.

Thanks

70% of your active users are men. If you chase the men away, you leave an empty romance section.

Hello Everyone,

There have been numerous complaints about anti-women, anti-feminist and misogynistic content on Nairaland, especially in this section.

This is not unrelated to the rising popularity of people like Sola, who are trying to fight back against the perceived excesses of woke western feminism. But it has brewed too much toxicity.

It has driven too many women out of the Romance section and out of Nairaland. They feel that they are always being attacked by male Nairalanders who seem to hate and despise them.

How can we make women feel welcome in the Romance section and on Nairaland? What rules should we put in place to bring women back and make them very happy?

Cheers.

Happy new year Mr. Seun @Seun. Thanks for finally looking into this. Femicide is a thing and it started out in most parts of the world with misogynistic posts and comments on social media platforms like this one. Like someone rightly mentioned, we'd read deadly or life-threatening cases experienced by females on here that aren't even on this platform but are met with hateful comments. The way forward is not someone demanding 3 things such as submission, respect, etc. from women that are not his wife. I think it's quite delusional to want to govern all women or expect submission from all women. Most Nigerian men desire a traditional woman yet they don't want to be traditional men in its entirety. Feminism is not being at logger heads with men, it is having rights to an equal number of opportunities, the right of a girl child to not be forced into marriage, the right to an inheritance and the right to own property, the right to have an education to the highest possible degree, it is the right to vote and be voted for, it is the right to be heard in all matters, etc. Women are not second class citizens. My suggestions are:

1. To change the mods in this section because there's no guarantee anything will be properly censored going forward OR

2. To have an equal number of male and female mods. But you'd need to verify the gender of potential mods because there is too much misrepresentation on this forum that I believe you're well aware of.

It's a tall dream to imagine that the hatred in this section will stop but perhaps, using a number of suggestions that have come up can be the beginning of a wholesome, respectable and vibrant forum like it once was.

Thank you

Real men don't hate women—they just don't want disrespect and dragging of duties as assigned by their forefathers.

Men (husband and boyfriends) just want faithfulness, submissiveness and respect.

Women feel offering these 3 things = slavery. (All thanks to Western media).

There is only one solution and that is: women should obey those three things I listed above. When they do, no sensible man will ever say bad things about them.

Failure to do this, African men won't keep quiet to avoid being emasculated like American men.

A faithful, submissive (not slave) and respectful woman is the most beautiful flower on Earth.

No solution until tradition is restored. Or, deactivate every male account on Nairaland so that women can be the only ones to create posts and comment while the men watch like voiceless and powerless SIMPs.

This will even help more men focus on money and self-improvement than creating threads on NL day and night.

Straight women roam around where there are men—be it toxic male or not. If all the men leave or get silenced, these women you want to fight for will get bored and also leave. The Romance Section will collapse. #Fact.

One, you haven't answered his question. Two, Nairaland is not the place to point out the 3 things you "need" in your wife/girlfriend or what is customary or traditional to you. Three, you can tell them that offline however you like. Restore tradition within the confines of your home because it sounds delusional to want tradition restored from the Romance Section of Nairaland. Nairaland is a little over 3m subscribers compared to Nigeria's population. There are a lot of men on this forum who wouldn't resort to slut shaming and name calling or outright misogyny to prove a point, so you don't speak for all men. Debbie's husband has been on this forum for years and it was also some men that have shut him up about being a simp that have turned round now to hail him for "scoring" a wife he loves into submission. The same scripture that said "wives SUBMIT to your husbands" also says "husbands LOVE your wives". Some of you don't have a clue what love is.

First of all, the posts in romance and family sections that your mods dishing out, 70% of them are skid towards bashing of women. I would be surprised if all mods in romance section are female and posting out such maligning threads.

1. Make sure you re-orientate and educate your mods about posts they should be posting to front pages.

2. Your mods must be vigilant at all times,to quickly ban and remove any bashing/toxic mentions, most especially on front pages.

3.After a particular user might have committed same offence for 3-5 times, endeavour to ban him/her for longer period like a months..

4. Provide a block botton in which individuals can use to block any user he/she doesnt want his or her mention. (Infact this need urgent attention)

Let me remind you that, if we happen to be in advanced world, this platform, NAIRALAND, would have banned long ago, because it full of toxic and hate speeches. TAKE FOR INSTANT, YOU ASKED FOR ADVICE, THE FIRST THREE PAGES, ONLY A HANDFUL OF USERS GIVE YOU AN INSIGHT, OTHRES RESULTED TO BASHING AND HATE SPEECH AGAIN.

Whatever you do Mr. Seun, don't touch that Redpill Thread by Glycossis and others.

Lessons from that thread made me know how to deal with my underage younger sister trying so hard to get pregnant for a riffraff and also made me know how to fish out one fine single mother of 22 claiming to be a virgin so she can hook me up.

Hating women is a different ball game, women hate men too, One Jennyclay and prettygirl200 always insults men on the first page of every thread and I am sure you aren't oblivious to it.

You should fish out the selected few and do a ban to them.

First, you have to understand that people will always have opinion. Just that some people are not mild when they want to express themselves.

Second, anti this and uncle that comments really depends on what side of the extremity you are. So if you want to pick a side, what will the anti-men comments hater say?

Third, I am disappointed that you mentioned a twitter person when you could have used someone from nairaland.com for your illustration.

Four, I really don't think they hate women here. Just a sprinkle of them who want things there way and don't get it always scream to high heaven.

Five, it's a forum. If you don't like a thread. Can't you just skip.

Six, accept that what you are trying to achieve is counterintuitive. The biggest thread on this board is a so-called women hating thread but it gets a comment almost everyday.

Seven, now you want to fight for the women, who will speak for men, you inclusive!

U nailed it.

That part where he mentioned Sola instead of Ubunja goes to show that Seun doesn't know anything about his platform.

Ubunja has been around on Nairaland before Sola started his influencing career. Wat is he talking about? What about anti-men comments? Is he receiving funding from feminist.co now?

Violence has no genders.
I know some female genders that are trolling men 24/7 but for some miraculous reasons all the mods and Seun turn blind eye.
If you want your this forum to grow be fair to all.

The simple solution that Will resolve 90% of these issues is a block button. Most of these posters thrive and get off on engagement and triggering. Talking among themselves about how useless women are will not cut it if there are no women to respond to them.

Stop looking for roundabout solutions to a simple issue. Introduce a block button and 90% of these posters will be starved for the engagement and triggering that they crave. Q

As an aside, you may not realize it, but you have a responsibility. A lot of youth come here and they are picking the wrong lessons from this platform.

If you had been exposed to and swallowed this red pill nonsense in your youth you may have never put your energy into building this platform, but rather focused on alpha male dominance nonsense.

There has always been a war of the sexes on this platform, but in the past it was mostly good natured banter, and knocks here and there. Not this outright hatred and small boys looking fof clout.

You also need to decide what you want your legacy and posterity to say about you. You post links to sure home marriage seminars. Well, the culture of misogyny promoted on Nairaland does not support the home - it supports baby mamaism because if these boys actually follow through on the rubbish they are swallowing - that will be the only option for them

See how you are thinking? Hiring women? Or hiring competent people you should have said? Or may be you should sack all your male moderators and hire all females and block all male accounts on this forum and keep the female account.

Always propagate excellence and shun acts capable of bringing your business to mediocrity.
