In a recent statement released on Friday, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) underscored its commitment to ensuring the integrity of Direct Entry (DE) admissions for the 2023 academic year. The Board categorically stated that it will not proceed with processing any DE admission without the prior verification of certificates for Advanced Level candidates who have applied.

The announcement, shared via the official JAMB handle, follows a directive from the Federal Ministry of Education earlier in the week. On Tuesday, the Federal Government suspended the accreditation of degree certificates obtained from institutions in Benin Republic and Togo. This move, communicated through a statement by Augustina Obilor-Duru on behalf of the Director of Press and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Education, came in response to concerns over the use of fraudulent means to secure degrees for employment purposes.
