Reports indicates that the earlier N7.5 billion given to Julius Berger construction company won’t be able to finish the new Vice Presidential villa in Abuja.Prior to this development, Julius Berger have requested for another whooping N9 Billion which will carter for the Banquet hall and security gadgets in the villa. The government has however claimed that it won’t release the new funds but will look carefully into the proposal and make recommendations. Myth has it that, even if the government were to reduce from the asking N9 Billion, it won’t be more than N500 Million. and this should put the final price to around 16 Billion Naira. Perhaps, this can explain the transformation agenda of Mr. President but we must know that any sincere government can fix the entire Benin-Ore Lagos road with street lights and drainage system to meet international standards with that kind of funds. It is a shame that we still continue to adhere to the same failed promises of our leaders who are hell bent in wiping the entire treasury. For any nation like ours, striving for sustainable growth and development, we must replace promises with policies that can create jobs for millions of Nigeria youths, put food on the table of the Nigeria people and overall, secure the lives of everyone while maintaining a buoyant economy. http://www.naijaindex.com/new-vice-presidential-villa-to-cost-n16-billion/ |

16 Billion? Clearly another case of misplaced priorities! Does anyone knows what's become of Senator Ude's proposed Welfare Bill, which was only going cost N77 billion over 5 years? The Senate, on Thursday, significantly advanced legislation on a new bill seeking to establish a social security system for Nigerian unemployed and aged.-- http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/Home/5576198-146/story.csp |
