If you were a businessman, and you were selling yam you bought from farmer at N1500 per tuber, will you sell that same tuber at N200 per tuber to help the poor breathe? To help the masses breathe?

You will not, because your business will die.

Dangote needs to pay salaries(at the rate that his workers would not jakpa), pay taxes, pay for crude at international prices, pay for maintenance costs, etc etc. Expecting him to do all that and then sell fuel at N200 per liter because of the masses is a big joke.

Businesses are not charities. They exist to make profits, and to make more profits. They do not care about the masses, because if they let the masses set their prices, they would crash. If the masses were allowed to set MTN and Airtel prices, they would crash well well.

Hopefully, it would reduce the pressure on dollars, and hopefully this means the cost of transporting fuel falls. But the era of cheap fuel is over. NNPC is even now a private company self.

The funny thing is people will call me oppressor now. Ok. If a business cannot set its prices, how would it make profit for shareholders and workers? Shebi government go pay am? Lol.

guy, dont blame them....nigerians were brought up to believe in magic drums....😂😂

But this flaring, is there no way to have a gas power plant close to the refinery and channel this excess gases to produce electricity.

Are you celebrating gas flaring now or?

This is not gas flaring, but production flaring. The purpose of this flaring is to purge out dirty production from cleaning of the installed piping. Startup of any Facilities including refineries, gas plants, petrochemical complex and others typically involves Nitrogen, natural gas pipe and equipment cleaning.

The other aspect is to purge out off spec products in the production line. By introducing crude oil into the units bit by bit to meet commissioning and performance guarantees, there will be off spec products that will be flared…

This flaring is totally different from your conventional natural gas flaring from upstream facilities.

I am happy. Just the fact that Nigerians are going through a lot already. Dangote is a shroud capitalist who doesn't like Lagosians enough.
Otedola just gave 1 billion yesterday to Lagos security fund. Why would Dangote not give too ?
Last time he gave Jobs to Engineering graduates mainly from his core Northern people only. What of other Southern Engineering graduates who own the land and better qualified?
Across the country, Dangote trailers kill Southerners like rats every time with zero justice ⚖️ for the dead. He singlehandedly destroyed our roads with his heavy haulage of cements Across Southern regions.
Can an Igbo business man try all these and still remain standing?

I thought gas flaring has stopped. Why the flaring? Can't it be converted to a useful purpose? I understand gas flaring produces excessive carbon monoxide (CO) which destroys ozone layer leading to global warming.

Hopefully, the gas flaring is just a temporary thing and they will be able to channel the gas for something useful.

I hope it does sincerely but from Dangote's antecedent every business he venture into in Nigeria usually lead to increase in the price of that product. Compare price of noodles, salt, sugar, cement before he came in and when he joined...

Alhaji Tafida Aliko Dangote is about to boost his wealth in geometric proportions.

Nigeria is about to become richer, and Lagos is about to become hotter...

I've never understood that state so many mad people madly rushing to their graves.

A gas flare, alternatively known as a flare stack, flare boom, ground flare, or flare pit, is a gas combustion device used in places such as petroleum refineries, chemical plants and natural gas processing plants, oil or gas extraction sites having oil wells, gas wells, offshore oil and gas rigs and landfills.

Flare stack at the Shell Haven refinery in England
In industrial plants, flare stacks are primarily used for burning off flammable gas released by safety valves during unplanned overpressuring of plant equipment.[1][2][3][4][5] During plant or partial plant startups and shutdowns, they are also often used for the planned combustion of gases over relatively short periods.

At oil and gas extraction sites, gas flares are similarly used for a variety of startup, maintenance, testing, safety, and emergency purposes.[6] In a practice known as production flaring, they may also be used to dispose of large amounts of unwanted associated petroleum gas, possibly throughout the life of an oil well.[7]

Lol. You didn’t have to lift this from google.

Socialism works...but at the end, one reaches a point where you have to keep funding the government programes by either very high taxes, or by taking more loans, and printing more money...and either way, the second option lead to collapse. Option one leads to people grumbling about high taxes.

But actually the common man's main problem is availability not price.
No matter how expensive it will be the fact that it's always readily available is of great benefits to the common man who rely heavily on it to make a living

do you realy think if ghanaians pay more for dangote fuel you will get it cheaper in nigeria....

better you nigerians get used to payin international average price for fuel than dreamin....
dangote took hugh loans to build that refinery....na you will pay the loans back for him....??
Don't mind them. Always expecting what they can not offer. Same people who have doubled the price of their merchandise within the last few months would want Dangote to sell his fuel cheaply to them.
Selfish and wicked people.

This is good development. My concern is just the environmental pollution that will bedevel the residents of our great state. We used to deal with asthma attacks in the oil producing areas in Warri, PHC and Bayelsa and it's still there as we speak. Nobody would even tell you of the refinery road in warri by the time you start the journey to that location. The impact of the air pollution is worse than that of a cement factory pollution.

Oh my God see how you reason!!! Sorry to say this are you truly a Nigerian? I seriously doubt it.

Dangote came to East to establish this refinery he was rejected.

He came to SS he was rejected and all these rejection are with strange reasons.

He came to SW he was allowed, same you people that rejected him started insulting him and question why everything in SW.

You same people said no refinery working, hurling all kinds of insults on govt now Dangote refinery have started, NNPC refinery will start in a week time yet you are here still complaining.

You said petrol price too high now the govt is doing everything to avoid us importing petrol that belong to us to trim doown the price yet you are not happy.

Pls what do want? I ask again and again what do you want?

People like you made Buhari what he was for 8 years as president by ignoring everybody and give no f u c k about the masses because we lament too much over everything in absolute.
