This is not really true. during my own traditional marriage. people literally ate 2 diffrent meals rice and swallow, and they all had lots to drink, virtually everyone ate till there heart content i even saw some women putting as much as half crate of malt in their bags. but i stayed from morning till evening and i didn't taste any food during my wedding, even my wife also told me she didn't eat anything, so during our wedding we made sure the caterer kept our food separate and as soon as i and my wife arrived the reception found after church, we immediately order food from the caterer because we have learnt our lesson. they were requesting for us to come and take photos with guest, but we said no abeg let us eat first. and that was the only meal we ate during the reception, but we still reserve one cooler of food which we took to our hotel room after the reception shall.

This is a regular thing at THE PLACE restaurant Falomo Ikoyi which is close to the Ikoyi marriage registry. Cant see anything wrong or strange with it.
