Max, in christ jesus, we all became God's special people. Corinthian church was blessed with gifts of the spirit. Read 1cor12-chap14 to get a broad view of what paul was saying.
They spoke in tongues, a gift you earlier said was only for the jews. They had saints with prophetic gifts.

You need to read and understand Paul's letters to know that in christ, all issues of jews and gentiles are abolished. read col2-3 and his other epistles.
