Two Men Who Saved Nig From Collapse Without Knowing & Died For It! by Bigkoko: 9:57am On Jan 17 |
Lt Col Victor Banjo & Col Ifeanjuna..... Two unsung heroes who saved Nigeria from collapse by using treachery and outright disobedience to the C-in-C..... In early start of the war. Gen Ojukwu knew the Brits would somehow come to Nigeria aid, because the offers he was given would certainly be accepted by the largely unwise and poorly educated leadership of Nigeria. They simply did not the sophisticated trainings Ojukwu. He knew the west is still undecided and simply lack intels on how formidable the biafrans were, other than they're well schooled and egalitarian in nature. Ojukwu knew he has elements of surprise and can win the war in less than a month if he could trust someone of Yoruba extraction to lead an invasion to liberate the West from Lugard's concoction...... He settled for Banjo, a refined, cool headed handsome man who had good western schooling, so would agree to a Pan African homogeneous country rather than a weird mix of hundreds of different tribes who actually hates themselves. Alas he was wrong! General Odumengwu Ojukwu using his superior military and political training from Oxford, hatched a secret plan, how to overall the Nigeria federation in less than 14 days. Arms were secretly acquired through Portuguese arms dealers. Three battalions were hurriedly assembled and two concurrent commanders were entrust to the SE-Memo task force. The object was capture of Lagos through the Midwest, while a commando team would lead a spearhead through Opi Nsukka axi and put presume on Kaduna and Kano, in less than 30 days Nigeria would fall and three key countries would arise. Once Lagos fall, the commando team would pressure the still loyal federal Forces, such that they can not counter attack or aid the West. This would have worked perfectly, except that Ojukwu made one fatal mistake. A Yoruba man, Victor Banjo who believed in one was to be given strategic military command and his close friend, who though, believe in Biafra were a co commander! They achieved their object getting as close to Lagos as possible and regrouping to lead a final onslaught, from Ore. They were so successful up till Ore.....when the gods of Yorubas struck Banjo with gbajue spirit and he abruptly halt his advance, giving Gowon and his war cabinet to fled and appeal to the Brits for full war armament. Not only did he stopped, he refused to give the necessary signal a spearhead, which by military standards would severed and isolate Ibadan from Lagos. The deal Ojukwu refused from the Brits was whole heartwdly accepted by Gowon and Awolowo. The rest is history! I was born in Auchi, a strategic town linking the north to East via a Cause way, by cutting the West.....in Benin city., critical battles were fought here, and true to the Biafran valor, the federal forces were routed abd destroyed as an potent fighting unit. To solve this calamity, a Battalion & Military school is permanently stationed in Auchi ~ Nicoho barrack and School of EME (Nigeria Army School of Electrical and mechanic engineering) because due to the fought battles Nigeria military planers quickly realize how strategic Auchi is to both North, West & East. To all Nigerians, y'all should be happy these two men refused a lawful military order and paid with their lives so y'all can enjoy the cesspool Nigeria currently is! 14 Likes 1 Share |

Give it to Ojukwu, he was a rare breed of playboy military commanders who surprised even the West with his tactical military skills... without treachery, and overwhelming military support from Soviet and Britain, the territories called Nigeria would simply have other names by now! 19 Likes 3 Shares |

If Sango had not successfully struck Banjo with gbajue spirit, the oduduwas would have had a country close in development to what South Africa is today because Awolowo had a close understanding of what Sir Bello, my northern male crush has when he planned his Northernization policy! Till date, no Northerner is as Smart, intelligent and calculative as Sir Bello. Ditto Awolowo...don't even compared these two clueless swobs ~Asiwaju and Buhari to these two great men! Well, the Igbos never lack great men who put general development first before personal Gain! 7 Likes 2 Shares |

See the cesspool they fought to preserve. A country led by a drug dealer and an alledge Boko Haram sponsor! Tufiakwaa....aru eme! gidgiddy: 8 Likes 2 Shares |

First it was Azikiwe who refused the secession clause, but Yorubàs are to bIame. Ojukwu executed Banjo by saying he wanted to to overthrow him, the first triaI didn't convict him of that, the second one did because Ojukwu wanted it. He won most of the wà r tiII he was èxecuted, that was when Ojukwu started Iosing, but the Yorubàs are stiII to bIame. 32 Likes 9 Shares |

He was a military man and had his orders, which is to led a liberation task force and free his people from Britain set up! He had all he needs including brave, loyal Igbo commandos willing to die following his orders! He got so close to his military object and stopped? Why? ?? He had the final military signal for a final onslaught, probably a coordinated spearhead so the West won't see it like it's an its an Igbo conspiracy and invasion. Why did he not relate the signals to the fronts for a push! Why did he try to entrench in Ore, rather than Lagos? Why? Well, we all knew. He wasn't totally cool with a homogeneous Oduduwa country where the Yorubas would develop alongside the Igbos as separate entities! JagabanB: 10 Likes 2 Shares |

Bigkoko: Banjo didn't die for Nigeria, Ojukwu murdered him in cold blood because he "thought" Banjo failed to make Biafra happen for him. So much responsibility on the shoulder of young innocent confused Yoruba boy. And what did he himself do? He wore skirts and blouse with headtie, tucked his dick between his legs and cowardly ran out of the country 27 Likes 6 Shares |

You're a civilian that's why you don't know the gravity of what Banjo and his buddy Ifeanjuna did... At least an Igbo was also executed for treason, una no go accuse Gen Ojukwu of bias. Banjo had 24/7 access to Military High Command due to the strategic nature of his task force. He didn't inform his Superiors of his "own" Plans even though there is a biafran controlled route from Ore to Asaba.... He had all the resources any sane commander can boost of, most especially brave commandos willing to die following his Orders. But for reason, he decided to stop at Ore and won't move an inch. Gowon is already evacuated to Kaduna. Awol is in fled to Ibadan and only foreign Diplomats were in Lagos. He kept his military chiefs in the dark for Days regarding operational stage and most especially the northern spearhead to finally break the bone of Nigeria... By commandos, I don't mean this set of soldiers running away from Boko Haram, bandits or riding okada in the evenings... gallant men ... please I mean no disrespect y'all, just have to speak the truth ni. He simply sat with his buddy, Ifeanjuna and decided to carve their own fiefdom.... hahahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. maasoap: 9 Likes 1 Share |

I'm very knowledgeable about these things because, My dad was in the officers cadre that fought up to Ore. He still could not forgive Banjo & Ifeanjuna for stopping short of operational Goal. That's why he'd settled thereafter in Mid West as we call Edo & Delta prior to now. My uncle was in the signal unit at Opi waiting for signal from Military High Command, so the Biafran commandos could swoop on Kaduna and Kano and free the Hausas and others from the Fulani dynasty. That signal never came....all thanks to Banjo and his buddy Ifeanjuna.... If Banjo was alive to his responsibility as a trusted military officer, and could possibly see Nigeria of today, he would have pressed home to full victory, and, him and Awolowo would have been the most respected leaders of SW because SW would be more like south Africa, given Awos vision of a homogeneous egalitarian Yoruba nation who compete healthily with the Igbos. Him, liberating his people and declaring a Republic and Awolowo taking over leadership. As the the task Force liberate the North from the stranglehold of Fulani dynasty, Gowon, a moderate christian would be task to organize the north as the food basket of Africa according to sir Bello plan. If these two treacherous men hadn't stop short of their orders, by now, SW would be led by refined, sophisticated and smart people like Banjo, Awo rather than agberos like MC oluomo or drug dealers like ...you know am na. Do I need to mention names? 8 Likes 1 Share |

A lot of people from that region, opposing govt progressive governance deserve pity, not attacks. You have no idea what culture can do to the human mind....pity, not attack them. At best, don't even join them in their bigotry. In 1960s the NGN was way more valuable than the British pound sterling, but today? Well, as recently as March 2023, the NGN was exchanged at 780 to a dollar but....pity them, not attack them. Some of them na IDPs in their country, but yet, have no clue. Hunger+bad governance+hideous culture = a depraved human mind. 1 Like 1 Share |

Bigkoko:U foIks are so great at thwarting history but it can never change. He haIted his invasion because he cleared the Midwest for Ojukwu, Ojukwu went ahead and appointed Albert Okonkwo as governor of Midwest, Banjo objected to it as he said someone who's indigenous should be made the leader. Ojukwu wanted him to move West, break it away from Nigeria and he will be appointed leader of Midwest but Ojukwu will sanction orders for West, he said whoever will lead the west should be an equal not a subordinate, Ojukwu also objected. Tell me again, will any lgb0 man invade his own home today to be under a leader in SW? The deal Ojukwu offered was to bring SW under his rule. Why do u foIks love thwarting history yet u foIks are the cause of all that started? 12 Likes 4 Shares |

Re: Two Men Who Saved Nig From Collapse Without Knowing & Died For It! by Bigkoko: 1:08pm On Jan 17 |
Firstly I appreciate your civility even though we have different principals and principles. As you rightly puts it, "he halted" the invasion. That's called disobedience in military. And if the reasons are found, it could be treasonous and it carries the death penalty. That's why he was shot. Just for the naysayers. Mid West is to be a buffer zone that protects the West from the east and vice versa. Mid West has almost all the major tribes as indigenes. Yorubas, Itsekhiri, Igbos, Anioma, Ukwanis etc so who temporarily leads show not have been a clear reason. By your own account, a subordinate has the temerity to object his C-in-C appointments, not even in a civilian govt but a military one that's currently fighting a war of survival? Nd for that he decided to wreck a Plan tha would free his offsprings? Nnaaa you are better than this.... Gen David Ejoor preferred neutrality while events unfolds. He was approached for leadership. But it looks like the gbajue spirit from sango was so strong. Other notable leaders from mid West were in hiding and afraid due to pogroms not so far off. So in that situation, you expect Ojukwu to distract his field commanders with political leadership? Or go start begging people to come take over leadership? Let's be rational please! It appears you do not know Ojukwu....or maybe it's the Ojukwu of the Nigerian Media houses...... Ojukwu simply loathes the fulanis, not even the Hausas or Yorubas. He just want free people who knotow to no one, not even the Brits, French or Soviets. Otherwise, he would have trade off one slave master for another.... But that's against the culture of the SW and North I think..... JagabanB: 2 Likes 1 Share |
