What most people do not know about this job is that some of the individuals can be very nasty and difficult to work with particularly the seniors with the onset of dementia and all that stuff.

Most people in the field, even the whites, would never categorize this as an outright abuse though.

Human rights, human rights, is how they've emboldened and made the individuals difficult to manage, and when you allow them to keep their human rights in their filthiness and unkemptness, the authorities will still be the ones to complain about abandonment.

If we had a country or leadership, they would have been left to be cleaning up their own mess however it pleases them.

For the miscreant up there saying "People won't do this kind of job in Nigeria but will do it abroad". Your ignorance is "Harvard-trained". What government or private entities will pay people who do these jobs abroad what they make in 3-4 hours daily?

Nonsense.

I know that an average Nigerian is evil, but those names don't look Nigerian. Please what part of the country do those names come from? North Central? Please don't reply me if you are not sure.

The same way they beat their parents back home and beat up elders. They should have charged them for manslaughter and sentence them to 50yrs imprisonment. If you're not okay with your job, resign or come back home.

There are more humane ways to handle the woman.

From age 80, most humans become kids and start to act like kids, and at that stage they need compassion and not cruelty.

If you are empathetic in life, no matter what, you will never maltreat anybody even when they push you to the extreme.

Empathy makes us humans.

Can you handle your own mother that way, ask yourself that.

The woman is in agony due to health challenges arising from old age, she need compassionate care and empathy to care for her. Don't support evil in the name of race.

If a caregiver treats your own aged mother that way how would you feel? Will you be happy to watch it?

If you wish to grow old, have it at the back of your mind that you might be in similar mental state like that aged woman they were rough handling. Yes some aged people are more difficult than others to care for, but if you have empathy, you will always try to treat them passionately.

Thank you for schooling the nitwit.

The abuse I noticed:

1). The way they raised her legs.
2). Presence of male caregivers robbed her of her personal dignity and privacy.

It is mostly lack of proper training and less of Nigerian factor in this case.

Close your filthy mouth there, if someone handles your grand mother like that how will you feel? Dementia is a common occurrence with old age, they are called caregivers for a reason, if you can't stand the attitude of those you are paid to take care of, it is better you quit the job. Instead of manhandling aged people. You think what you do and get away with here, you can do it and get away in saner climes? This has no correlation between slave/master or racism, this is an assault and unprofessionalism.

They deserve to be in prison. The first thing about looking after the oldies is not to push them around or take the piss. The poor woman was in agony and nearly sobbing, but they still carried on.

Playing the race card won't make any difference. Own up to what you've done.
In My Opinion, they got off with a very light sentence. Who is playing the racism card is talking trash. They are paid to look after an elderly person with special needs. They are supposed to be gentler and more understanding as - repeat - CARE GIVERS.

Why be a caregiver if you don't understand dementia and the resulting behaviours? ... and don't have the patience and compassion to manage such a patient? I guess they are now learning that people cannot be treated anyhow .... and excuses are not accepted. Prison followed by deportation ... end of dream.

i very much agree with your views. your talks are not empty, probably from experience. my only problem with them was falling for the resident and family antics. those that are very quick to install cameras in the room can not stand their mother for five seconds both at home and in the nursing facilities, but very quick to say how much they paid for her to be there.
lesson here is: never try to do everything as your mind dictates, if a resident becomes too difficult to care for, call for help from nurse or a senior on duty.

The woman is 89 years old
Physically she is no match for them because she is frail and weak and to make matters worse, she has Alzheimers which means her mental health is in a very poor condition.

If 4 healthy and able bodied adults cannot take care of an elderly and frail woman with mental health issues without rough handling her, then they deserve to go to jail.

So where did they beat or hurt the woman? undecided

The old lady is always agitated and they were only trying or struggling to keep her still so they can work?

This video doesn't show any violence behaviour towards the old lady. She was even hitting hands on the bed frame because she gets agitated when u try to assist her.

They need to release those care givers immediately.

What's your point though? They did rough-handle her and they caused or allowed a bruise - which led the camera to be installed in the first place. Before you start a job like this, you are trained and the rules are spelt out. Courts are not Dugbe market where people react emotionally to a video and call for instant lynching. The fact these people were convicted means either they broke those rules outright or the court believes what they did constitute abuse in the eyes of a reasonable man.
