Some people see Goodluck as a hero for not fighting to stay in power but that's very far from it. As a president, he was very much aware of the plans of the world power to install Buhari and completely destroy Nigeria - he was the only obstacle to actualizing that. He decided not to stick out his head and make any attempt to redeem the country - that would have been the only possibility of salvaging Nigeria and when Trump comes in, the America's government's attention would have shifted from Nigeria.
