For instance, some days ago, someone posted “Solomon Lar Amusement Park Jos IN VIEW’. Both the Facebook source and the NL op added “in view” which clearly shows that it is a model and not the real park. But the mod who pushed it to the homepage titled it “Solomon Lar Amusement Park In Jos’.

Because of this, the comments on Nairaland were completely different from the comments on Facebook. Those on Nairaland were commenting as if it was a real park while those on Facebook showed they knew it was not real.

Yet that same day, it was reported here on Nairaland that an Edo-born Nigerian was appointed into a big office at United Nations Habitat and he was even congratulated by his Governor. But despite calling on Nlfpmod to push the thread to hp, it never made it.

Meanwhile, can we stop saying ‘first page’? It makes us Nigerians look very backward in the eyes of the world as if we don't know that the right way to say it is ‘homepage’.

Nairaland mods do not fact check before pushing news content to frontpage. It is what is regarded as misinformation and Twitter is fighting hard to combat this. However Nairaland mods push contents to frontpage if the message sounds like a clickbait for the sake of more visitors click rather than for the genuinety of the information.

I first realized this when the Russian and Ukraine war broke out! If you follow the war commentators on YouTube, you would know Russian is pounding Ukraine but at one point, Russian withdrew troops from Kherson Oblast to over Dniper river side still in the same Kherson.

Nairaland reported that Ukraine seized the whole of Kherson pushing out the Russians and I was like; Does the mods know what he is pushing to frontpage for public consumption or they just do it for clickbaits?
