There's no benefit to being members of ECOWAS... No sustainable bi-lateral trade, no currency swap, no ease of business, etc... African union sef is just docile.... 2 Likes 1 Share |

This is good , I hope they will fuse together into a confederacy and form a very powerful country with powerful military, economy tech and agric base. They should form the real giant of Africa like we had during Mensah Musa years. Ecowas has outlived its usefulness, only useless countries will remain in Ecowas. Kudos Russia, more African countries should liberated, I saw this coming. |

They were already suspended. Like someone mentioned in a different thread, it's like a former employee tendering a resignation to an employer after that employer had already been fired months ago. Once those countries return to a democratically elected president, they would come back begging to become a member of ECOWAS again. |

Let them go. They're ARABS, Fulanis, Tuaregs and TERRORISTS. Let them learn their lessons before we admit them back. Now they're playing games. |

ECOWAS is useless, they should leave. All what ECOWAS leaders does is to take photoshoot every year. Just travelling within the ECOWAS, you'll think you're crossing two continents. No regional integration whatsoever. Opening a business in Ghana as an ECOWAS citizen is more harder than opening a business in the UK, and yes, you can have a UK business without ever setting your legs in the UK. Corrupt officials will extort you. Imagine paying for passport stamps. No where on earth that nonsense happen, only in the ECOWAS. No currency integration, market integration and people integration. You will pay for your passport to be stamped, and your stay validity depends on how the border official feel, either to give you a month or three, even though ECOWAS law says you have a right to three months visa free. The ECOWAS community is the most weakest and useless intergovernmental region in the world. I'm very sure if ECOWAS was not created about five decades ago, no country will join it. Mauritania was smart to exit the sinking ship in 2000. 10 Likes 1 Share |
