Bruce Fein, International Counsel to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu (MNK), the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra ( IPOB) , has petitioned the United Nations, European Union, the Commonwealth and the African Union seeking the suspension or expulsion of Nigeria from the comity of civilized nations.
Bruce Fein in a petition to the world leaders alleged that Nigeria is an outlaw nation and a threat to international peace and security, saying that “no country in the world is safe from Nigeria’s trademark lawlessness”.

Citing several violations of international law including the hanging of Ken Sarowiwa among alleged brazen disregard of rule of law as sanctioned by the civilized societies , the counsel pointed out that the Nigerian constitution lacked basic ingredients of civil engagement have been drafted in secrecy by a military dictator, and never approved by the Nigerian people.
Fein who decried the continued detention of his client despite clear violations of fundamental human rights was particularly irked that the Supreme Court of Nigeria endorsed Mazi Kanu’s trial even as it agreed that the criminal prosecution was borne out of the kidnapping and extraordinary rendition of Kanu from Kenya.
Among other actions the lawyer urged the world leaders to initiate action and investigate the eligibility of the Nigeria to sit on the same pedestal with members of the international community.
The petition titled ” Nigeria’s incorrigible lawlessness-Suspension or expulsion from international bodies” Bruce Fein, a USA based International lawyer wrote:
“I am writing as international counsel for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. He is currently arbitrarily detained in a Nigerian dungeon in precarious health and denied access to necessary medical care.
“The United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention declared on July 20, 2022, that Mr. Kanu’s detention was in violation of sixteen (16) jus cogens

It is an undeniable fact that Nigeria is a country. However, it is concerning to see how a country can be involved in such criminal activities as kidnapping and still be engaging in diplomatic relations with other nations. This is a matter of great concern and should not be taken lightly.
