MEET THE MAN DONALD AKHIGBE, NIGERIAN CONTESTING FOR THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR OF LONDON

My name is Donald AKHIGBE, I'm standing to be your next mayor of London

I grew up in the famous Stadium Road in Benin city Nigeria and attended the prestigious Emotan Primary school

I attended Federal Government College Idoani in Ondo State which was one of the unity schools created by the Federal Government of Nigeria to foster unity and understanding amongst the various tribes in Nigeria

That experience taught me tolerance, understanding and crucially, appreciation of our differences

I have a Bachelor degree in Electrical Electronics Engineering from the University of Benin in Nigeria

I have a master's degree in project management from the University of East London here in the UK

I have always worked in the construction industry first as part of the family business in Nigeria and after getting my master's degree I entered the industry here in the UK

I'm a devoted Christian and play an active role in my local church

My favourite past time is salsa dancing and watching construction projects documentaries

I'm the recipient of several awards including the Panache's Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year 2023

I'm committed to the development and upliftment of my community
