Gunmen Kill Kwara Monarch, Abduct Wife, 2 Others, The traditional ruler of Koro town, Ekiti local government area, Kwara State, Oba Peter Olusegun Aremu-Cole, was tragically shot and killed on Thursday night by suspected kidnappers. "We are devastated," said Chief Ayobola Samuel, a former Permanent Secretary and Asiwaju of Koro. "The elders will convene tomorrow to determine our next steps. The police have been informed of this tragic incident."

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq condemned the attack in a statement, calling it "reckless, shocking, and abominable." He urged security forces to "deploy all resources to track down the perpetrators, free the abducted individuals, and bring them to justice."
