The Super Eagles’ head coach, Jose Peseiro is on course to win his first ever career silverware as his team looks to winning the African Cup of Nations trophy, Bet Extract reports.

Portuguese coach, Peseiro Vitor dos Santos Peseiro exceeded everyone’s wildest expectations as he has now guided Nigeria to the final match of the Africa Cup of Nations.

To get to the African Cup of Nations finals, the Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated Bafana Bafana of South Africa 4-2 on penalties.

After extra time, the game ended in a 1-1 draw. The three-time winners will play now have to play the hosts, Ivory Coast, in Sunday’s championship match.

Jose Peseiro was taking sessions with Raul, Roberto Carlos and Ronaldo, with Zinedine Zidane and Luis Figo. “Until then, I was afraid. Never before had I shared a dressing room with big players. But it was not difficult because they are so smart. It was fantastic.” The experience lasted only one season.

In his playing career, he never won any silverware. So also, had been in his coaching career that started in 1992 with União de Santarém in Portugal.

An AFCON trophy on Sunday against Ivory Coast will be Jose Peseiro’s first and biggest silverware. The Super Eagles are playing in their first AFCON final in eleven years. The squad’s most recent AFCON victory was in South Africa in 2013. The Eagles has previously won it in Tunisia (1994) and Nigeria (1980). Whether the team will win again this time is still to be seen.
