I scrolled through my feed yesterday, a sponsored post caught my eye—an advertisement boasting an abundance of glowing testimonials in the comment section. Intrigued yet skeptical, I couldn't help but wonder if this was too good to be true.
I've been on the search for the perfect laptop for my brother, and there it was, tempting me with an unbelievably low price tag. Knowing the current economic climate in Nigeria, I couldn't shake the feeling of impending danger. But I was torn between seizing what could be a fantastic opportunity and the possibility that my perception of prices had become skewed.
To put my doubts to rest, I enlisted the help of a friend residing in Ilorin to scout out the advertised location and inspect the products firsthand. What he found was disheartening—there was no trace of the advertised business. The numbers provided led to dead ends, and any attempt to arrange a meeting was met with silence. It became clear that this was not a legitimate operation.
My friend called them and initially they picked but when he told them he was at the location and there was no place like such, they dropped the call and refused picking till he left there.
I chatted them in their inbox today and after telling them that I sent someone to them yesterday but realised they was no address as such, they blocked me.
This stoey serves as a reminder to exercise prudence when making purchases, especially on platforms like Facebook where there are no verification for accounts. Don't be swayed by fabricated testimonials and comments. Always insist on inspecting the goods in person before parting with your hard-earned money, unless you're dealing with a trusted individual. Stay vigilant and avoid falling victim to deceptive schemes.

You will always detect scam posts if you have sense,
Now here are things to watch out -
Copy and paste words with lots of punctuation and sign marks and capital letters and highlights, bold letters etc.
Very cheap price.
Very scanty or fake profile
Unverifiable address
Customs officer, fine babe picture, etc
Anybody that gets scammed online must have a very low intelligence iq.

I once video called a fine babe I met on one of the SM apps, sent Tfare only to be ghosted and blocked there after.

I have since stopped taking too-sweet-to-be true online deals serious. In fact I look and pass🤣🤣🤣

I experienced the same thing last year here in Abj..
I had it in mind to change phone that week but I will just scrolling through my instagram feed and saw a page that with a lot of testimonies….the funny thing is that some of this upcoming influencers advertised for them….
Their phone was too cheap and they said they do delivery after payment…..I asked for their address and they gave me one plaza address in wuse

I got there and called them….he said he went to pray(it was on Friday)I waited for hours and called him again and he stopped picking my calls

He later blocked me on call and on IG…..e pain sha bc of the bolt fees and my time I wasted

You should be grateful o. What if you had paid sitting at home and expecting your phone to be delivered?

I checked the link, I saw some comments thanking them for promo delivery of their laptop bla bla bla, some were asking if it could be delivered to Abuja amongst other questions

These comments could all be made by a syndicate housed in a particular place giving the impression they are legit or real, na after you pay money your eyes go clear

Use jiji if you are looking for fairly used items and make sure you meet the seller physically at a public place. I am suprised how people fall easily for facebook scams, especially guys that send T.p to one fine girl on facebook after few days of chatting. Not just scam you can also be exposed to spammed links, reason must of us lose our facebook/whatsapp. My pop everyday dey send me link to click and one morning bam his whatsapp is gone.
