We should be talking about resource control by states and state policing. Those are critical at this point, not changing the system of government. 25 Likes 1 Share |

What difference does it make if the stealing and mismanagement continues? Nonsense. We need a group of people like Rawlings to set the ship of the nation back in the right direction. 6 Likes |

October1960:Makes a whole lot of difference The prime minister must defend everything weekly against the opposition You can't be in a parliamentary system and not be vocal about your policy Young people are more likely to become prime minister under parliamentary system It's less expensive, more scrutiny 18 Likes |

Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi had good intentions back then but in retrospect, a huge mistake. His infamous Decree No. 34 of 1966, the “unification decree", effectively did away with the federal system of government practiced by Nigeria since its independence from British colonial rule in 1960. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Nigerians like running around in circles avoiding the real issues. When we had parliamentary system we failed, we tried presidential, it has failed…what is the common denominator…..Nigerians! Every time we have an election they want to amen the electoral act, we have one of the best in the world but they still want to amend, what is the common denominator….Nigerians. We have all sorts of laws but the country does not work, what is the common denominator……Nigerians! We had regional government, the same people who abolished it are the ones calling to regional government 60 yrs later. We had secession clause, the same people that opposed it are the ones calling for referendum. We can a,mend laws and systems all we like but we can’trun away from ourselves. When we are ready to deal with our real issues…..our Nigerian traits, our Pysche, they should let us know. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

Unserious people. Invaders are taking your lands and renaming them. Instead of fighting for state policing and other important things, like going back to regionalism and three tier total independence; you're falling for the distraction bait of parliamentary system. I don't want to believe we're under a spell. Certainly not now. I have seen that the plan is, anything that will stop our agenda and bring freedom and development; let it not see light of the day. Let them keep running around in circles. It can't continue again because nature and God is above you all. 1 Like |
