These are some their biggest campaign financiers. If the president decides to break the competitive advantage that has been handed over to these capitalists from generation to generation, where will the next campaign funds come from.
They all know what they are doing.
The masses are nothing but pawns
I quite agree..

Allow other investors in the cement industry for competitions, and watch demand and supply determine the cost.
I think economics as a subject should be proscribed in Nigeria.

It does not work here

Are we too blind to see it?

100 bags is ₦1m. How poor man wan take get house like this?
Just watch how they will explain it away afterwards like it is a normal thing for the price to go up so outrageously as it has in the past 2 weeks. Eventually what are the advantages of local production if prices can take to flight like birds in the sky.

Why the increase if not wickedness?
Nigerian masses are the most wicked people on earth. As soon as they hear of increment they inflate prices immediately, but when it drops they feel reluctant to reduce the prices of commodities and most times it remains like that.
If FG increase pump price of PMS to N2000 now all filling stations will comply immediately, if they reduce it to N200 per litre the idiõts will start talking of old stock.......I don't blame government in everything, the masses are also one of the problems of Nigeria.
The wickedness in the land is too much.

Why can't Ibeto or any other wealthy Igbo or group pool resources together to revitalize the Nkalagu cement to free Igbos from the Fulani cement mafia? Igbos like coming to social media to complain about everything and blame other tribes when we haven't done our homework.

In some quarters' opinion: adulterated and very low quality will be produced and pushed to the market by the people you just mentioned above, therefore causing a lot of calamity, futuristic problem such as incessant breaking of construction works etc. You can infer this opinion from fake electronics, fake beer, fake petrol, fake fan, fake juice, fake wine, fake baterries, fake pregnancy , fake hospital, fake money, fake occupation, fake life, fake malt, e.t.c., that we know them for, in the name of doing business!

The additives in cement production which may be imported is very minimal. Naira devaluation cannot be responsible for over 120% price increment for cement. The major raw material for cement is locally and abundantly available.
This cement cabal need to be checked before they get out of hand.
Did you consider transportation of the raw materials, how much is diesel now?

We don't have all the raw materials. We only have the stones which they grind. We don't have the chemicals which make the grinded stones solidify when it's mixed with water. They import those chemicals at 1,650 naira to a dollar rate.

Or do you think once they grind the stones, they'd just bag them and sell?

If a bag is 12k at 1650$ rate imagine when dollars hit 5k

When we say Dangote is one of the problems of Nigeria some never do well will call it hatred. Buy later in their miserable life they will come to terms with reality. Igbos see before others.

We saw Bubu yansh but others saw it after 8 years.
We saw Tinubu yansh but others are seing it after 7 months.

Respect Igbos biko.

Open Seme Border. Let foreign rice enter. Let foreign cement come in. I bet you, the price of cement will reduce to 3,500 per bag, and a bag of rice will reduce to 30,000.
Within 3 months we will see results.
Big businesses that are being protected by the Government will continue to take advantage of the masses, unless you create a level playing field.
It is such a shame!

What you listed here have you taken into consideration custom clearance fee which has increased almost by 100% recently?

In my view, one of the best way to cut the hands of greedy manufacturer is boycott.
No matter how impossible it may sound, boycott can reset the whole nonsense over a short period of time.
Anyways, for majority Nigerians, daily bread is the number one priority at the moment

Re: FG Summons Dangote, BUA Over Rising Cost Of Cement by We4all: 6:01pm On Feb 17
The question is, what is the factory price per bag? I am aware that most manufacturers usually set the retail prices for distributors. So, if these distributors are just taking advantage of the situation to hike prices, they should be boycotted.

Our problem in Nigeria is that we are not patriotic enough and enable bad behaviors. Prices of goods are increasing because people are patronizing the sellers. If a commodity is insanely expensive and not something essential, don't just rush and buy because you can afford it. If we continue like this, the situation will get worse.

Re: FG Summons Dangote, BUA Over Rising Cost Of Cement by Origin(f): 6:49pm On Feb 17
There is no justification in the rise of many goods and services....

Using local materials should not result in high prices from fx. Even if some components of materials are imported .. ..

And this is where we see the true CEOs/MDs. Who always think they are the best because everything goes well. Not all goods can benefit from an increase in prices.....

What is your strategy or will you just blame it on fx. Banks MD have not been able to show any strategy to manage the losses from the floating fx. With all their huge salaries, it's the shareholders bearing the losses

Nigerians should also understand their power and BOYCOTT all goods that are non essential for now.

THE CUSTOMER IS STILL KING. THE POPULACE IS STILL KING.
