Year 2024 farming season is fast approaching .If you have a piece of land laying idle in the village I will advise you to plant oil palm tree on it .Instead you waiting to buy 10 to 20 acres of land why don't you start with an acre of land at your disposal ?

An acre of well planned oil palm plantation can be more productive and profitable than a big plantation with no adequate farm mentainance .The 10 acres proposal on oil palm plantation You read in my previous post has a lot of financial implication hence you might need to start with one or two acres and continue to develop the rest of the farm as you progress and before you know the first acres you planted within 3 years would have start bearing fruits which could provide finance to develop the entire plantation .Patience and perseverance is all you need .

An acre of oil palm plantation under good agronomic practice within year 3 to 5 is capable of producing between 1000 to 1500 litres of palm oil excluding palm kernel oil and palm kernel cake which are additional products that generate revenue .Considering the price obtainable in the market for palm oil a litre is sold around around 1000 to 1,500 naira ,for a farmer that is able to achieve 1000 to 1500 litres of fresh palm oil will generate revenue of 1million to 1.5million annually from an acre of oil palm plantation ,meanwhile the oil yield per acre will continue to increase towards 2,000 litres as the oil palm tree continue to grow year in year out .

You can become the next generation of farmer that will supply our local market with palm oil and palm kernel oil. if you are bless enough to set up a big plantation you can sell your product to companies that require palm oil and palm kernel oil such as cosmetics ,food industry ,pharmaceuticals and engine lubricant companies .these are few of the industries that demands palm tree base product to run their businesses and as a farmer who is considering to invest in oil palm farming you have a role to play .what other low risk agribusiness do you need to consider if not oil palm tree that can create a generational wealth and retirement plan for you ?

It worthwhile to mention that as lucrative as oil palm farming could be it require some input from you as a farmer which are listed below

Planting of improved tenera from NIFOR or Supergene( imported ) oil palm seedlings which we can guarantee you supply from our nursery

Regular weeding atleast 3 times in a year to keep weeds away from competing with nutrient available to the oil palm tree

Adequate fertilization 3 times a year during the raining season so as to promote vegetative growth of the oil palm tree to bear bigger fruits after 3 years .

We are always available to work with you in setting up your plantation and provide you with the best quality seedlings from our nursery
