New information about the Russian-Ukrainian war presented by this episode of Samri Channel.
On Friday, the Russian Investigative Committee announced that it had launched a procedural investigation into the circumstances of the death of opposition politician Alexei Navalny in a prison. The Russian "TASS" news agency quoted the Kremlin as saying that President Vladimir Putin had been informed of Navalny's death. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg expressed his “deep sadness over Navalny’s death,” calling for all the facts about his death to be known. In turn, European Council President Charles Michel said that Russia is "solely responsible" for Navalny's death. On Friday, the White House considered Navalny's death a "terrible tragedy if confirmed." White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan told National Public Radio (NPR) that the Kremlin's "long and sordid" history of harming its opponents "raises real and clear questions about what happened." Latvian President Edgars Rinkevich accused the Kremlin of murdering Navalny, saying: “Navalny was brutally killed by the Kremlin and this shows the true nature of the current regime in Russia.”

For his part, French Foreign Minister Stephane Ségourny wrote on the X platform: “Navalny’s resistance to the repressive regime cost him his life.” For his part, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that the news of Navalny's death was "terrible" and praised the late Russian opposition leader. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz described the news of Navalny's death as "very sad." The Norwegian Foreign Ministry also held Moscow highly responsible for Navalny's death. The Russian Prison Service announced the death of imprisoned opposition politician Alexei Navalny. The service said, in a statement, that Navalny felt unwell after walking on Friday and lost consciousness, and an ambulance arrived to try to revive him, but he died. Navalny, who was serving a 19-year prison sentence on extremism charges, was transferred in December from his former prison in the Vladimir region in central Russia to a "special regime" penal colony - the highest security level of prisons in Russia - above the Arctic Circle.

In the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war, the Ukrainian army was forced to withdraw from the city of Avdiivka in the east of the country, giving Russia its largest symbolic victory after the failure of the counterattack launched by Kiev last summer, and paving the way for the largest Russian advance since May 2023 when Moscow seized the city of Bakhmut. The region's commander, Ukrainian General Oleksandr Tarnavsky, announced via Telegram on Friday night, Saturday, that "in accordance with the order we received, we withdrew from Avdiivka to pre-prepared positions." Ukraine was forced to abandon the city of Avdiivka, the center of "violent fighting" in the east of the country, which has become largely destroyed, amid a growing shortage of resources and obstruction of American military aid, while Russia reinforced its forces with more elements and ammunition to take control of Avdiivka days before the anniversary. The second annual invasion of Ukraine begins on February 24. Tarnavsky added, "In a situation where the enemy advances by walking over the corpses of his soldiers and has ten times more shells (...), this is the only correct decision." He stressed that the Ukrainian forces thus avoided an encirclement near this largely destroyed industrial city, and that they withdrew to safer locations outside the town.

Leaders of double face. What efforts did all these world leaders put up to pressure Putin to release him when he was incarcerated in cold prison.

All these Russian Ukrainian war could have been avoided had america not be trying to extend NATO borders to the very borders of Russia, an act the Americans wouldn't tolerate from another country.
