Gajagojo:I was saying borrowing in it self isn’t where the problem was but what happened to those money? Atleast when you borrow money and the infrastructure improve, you can improve economic activities and thereby be able to get things working. But where are the investments? Looted and having no trace. |

onatisi: Hmmm like seriously am part of them by saying atiku is a dis and that for selling the refinery but now I can see the reason the decision would have been the best to sell it rather than spending funds on what won't told any positive outcome 😢 1 Like |

obj sold the refineries to Dangote and Otedola before leaving office, because of public outcry and this same APC propaganda against PDP goverments, they were able to make people believe that the move was borne out of selfish decisions, yar adua had to reverse the decision and stop the sale . now 20 years after that decision , those refineries are still not working , and they will never function well under government ownership. and now Tinubu has allocated over 3 billion naira spending three billion to repair them and it is certainly not going to work because of fx fluctuations, buhari alone spent 19biilion naira on those refineries, not to mention the money previous governments have been spending on them. https://dailypost.ng/2023/06/09/buhari-spent-19bn-on-refineries-none-operational-gov-sule/ this was what informed Atiku decision that they should be sold, he was merely following obj leading. those refineries are politicians dollar ATM schemes. the same subsidy removal this same tinubu and his APC members stood against and mobilized Nigerians against in 2012 , and which would have saved Nigeria TRILLIONS OF NAIRA AND MOST LIKELY EVEN DOLLARS, is the same they are now doing 12 years after told Nigerians it was all a lie. they knew goodluck was right to remove it but because it caught the unaware and most of them are fuel importers they stood against it . if that policy had been allowed to stay we would have gone pass the level we are now in terms of fx rates , fuel supply and even operational refineries Kingrshd3: 1 Like 1 Share |

onatisi: May God bless you 100% u really understood the game from the Genesis I to revelation.. I'd they have allowed Jonathan to remove it then ehn by today highest per told wouldn't have been more than 300 because everything and economy worldwide was still very ok and fair.. But economy of today world wide is something else which is indirectly affecting our dear country and yet this same Tinubu that kicked against subsidy during Jonathan and protested now remove this same subsidy in his own time 😢😢 We have the stupid and clueless leaders in Nigeria. But why can't we change constitution that if you loose in a particular party u can't decamp to join another party 🤔. .because same set of groups and people have been rulling this dear nation from 1983 😢😭 Who will cure Nigerian leaders of this malady 😡 Can't we bring them together and act like Ghana to burn or bomb them in a room so new set can come in?? 1 Like 1 Share |

My thoughts exactly Atiku even understands the Nigeria economy than Tinubu. I was wondering why tinubu rushed with the whole thing arrogantly with out minding . |

omohayek: You need to understand politics separately from administration/governance. If you want the person with the best governance plan to be in office then you play politics accordingly to achieve YOUR goal. In this regard, how did your threads below help or hinder the person with the best administrative/governance plan to be in office? https://www.nairaland.com/5001688/reuters-nigerian-candidates-u.s-visit https://www.nairaland.com/7873126/no-evidence-nigerias-president-forged 1 Like 2 Shares |

anonimi: The difference between you and I is that I understand that the means by which you strive for a goal matters just as much as the ends. There was no way in hell I was going to support any candidates whose supporters routinely resorted to brazen slander and character assassination, especially when their attacks had a clear tribalistic slant. Whatever Tinubu's failings, it is simply a disgusting lie to call him a drug trafficker or accuse him of having forged his certificate, and if those who opposed him had wanted to be taken seriously by thinking people instead of appealing to the low-IQ section of the populace, they would have been better off sticking to factual arguments and discussing policy proposals, just as I'd suggested from the start. Instead they preferred to spew lie after lie, only to have the nerve to feign shock when some of us reacted with utter disgust. It would be the height of folly to trust a candidate whose movement is founded on tribal supremacy, smears and religious jingoism, running from church to church while endorsing nonsense about the perils of a "Muslim-Muslim" ticket - especially when said candidate had no track record of showing superior intellect or administrative ability, and an even worse record of corruption than Tinubu. My position throughout this last election was not really in favor of Tinubu but against Peter Obi, who represents everything I despise most in Nigerian politics, and who I am %100 certain would be doing far worse than Tinubu currently is, supposing by some miracle Obi's vanity candidacy had managed to succeed. 1 Like 1 Share |

omohayek: Do you think it is possible that Tinubu and his supporters floated those stories as bones for dogs to avoid any policy discussion since he is clueless on that 1 Like 2 Shares |

omohayek: My concern is that you said Atiku was the best policy wise but created those two threads to undermine his political chance of getting into office to act on those policy issues on which he has been consistent in words and actions when he was given half an opportunity as Obasanjo's VP. 1 Like 2 Shares |
Re: Naira Floating by Tinubu was Ill-advised-Atiku by omohayek: 12:10pm On Feb 21 |
anonimi:Maybe your eyes glazed over where I said that I couldn't trust Atiku's promises due to his record of abusing power for the sake of self-enrichment? You seem to think I had some sort of duty to promote someone who had repeatedly shown himself untrustworthy by compounding his illegal creation of Intels while in office with the Jennifer Douglas scandal in the USA, and then made things worse by taking back his initial words on Deborah Samuels and talking on TV about "enriching his friends". Newsflash: there is more to supporting a candidate than a manifesto, however attractive. Character matters too, and promises are worthless if those making the promises can't be trusted to keep them. 2 Likes |

omohayek: That is why I said you need to understand politics better. The election was between Tinubu and Atiku, with Peter Obi as a spoiler to help Tinubu. The politics was to ask whether Tinubu was OVERALL a better choice than Atiku, taking into consideration each candidate's negatives, then work accordingly. I hope we understand each other better now. |
