Nairametrics is in search of a skilled and motivated Energy Writer to join our expanding team. As an Energy Writer, you will play a crucial role in generating high-quality written content focused on various facets of the energy sector in Nigeria and beyond.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a deep interest in energy-related subjects and the ability to convey intricate information in a clear and captivating manner.

Job Description:

Research, analyze, and compose compelling articles, features, analysis pieces, and reports covering a broad spectrum of topics within the energy sector, encompassing oil and gas, renewable energy, electricity markets, sustainability, and energy policy.
Stay informed about the latest developments, trends, and innovations in the energy industry through ongoing research and engagement with industry news sources.
Conduct interviews with industry experts, stakeholders, and thought leaders to gather insights and perspectives for inclusion in written content.
Collaborate closely with the editorial team to brainstorm ideas, develop editorial plans, and ensure the accuracy, relevance, and quality of published content.
Adhere to deadlines and schedules to ensure the timely delivery of content and meet editorial standards.
Engage with our audience through various channels, including social media, to promote written content and foster discussions around energy-related topics.

Job Requirement:

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, English, Energy Studies, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience as a writer, journalist, or content creator, with a portfolio of published work showcasing strong writing skills and expertise in energy-related topics.
Excellent research skills and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise, and engaging written content.
Sound understanding of the energy industry, including key players, market dynamics, technological advancements, and regulatory frameworks, particularly within the Nigerian context.
Familiarity with SEO principles and best practices for optimizing written content for online platforms.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
