I believe that, we need to understand that churches are politically motivated to enslave the people.

The church wants to rise and wants to build bigger worship centers to be able to accommodate more members, not to bless them, but to collect from them.

Churches are like entitled girlfriends. The will never believe in the progress of their members but on what the members are willing to offer every Sunday.

The will make it seems like the preaching is something very unique that you can't get it listening to gospel channels.
what you described is not church but religious business centres.

The leadership of the city of David RCCG need reforms. It's not a good example for COD church leaders to exhibit worldliness as the church is supposedly a role model with pastor adeboye as GO.
How is that your business. Drop emotions pls.

You're not worried that while your mini mama GO is flexing and dancing ayagaya igirigi and agba baller by Favour,"Redeemites" are currently observing the annual 40-day prayer and fasting as instructed by papa GO??

Any thing people will attach emotions. So if a less prominent member had died will the birthday be suspended or not

E shock me too, the RCCG I used to know and go was like deeper life but just less tringent, ah inviting flavour to church, I guess worldliness has finally crept in

The Igbo community believed that Dr. Siju Iluyomade should not celebrate her birthday because Herbert Wigwe died. This is the same tribe that saw nothing wrong in the shameless act of the late governor of Ondo State's wife celebrating her 70th birthday while her husband was fighting for his life on a life-saving machine in Germany last August. Shame on those who uphold double standards; shame on all of you.

The day I saw the pictures of the flamboyant birthday celebrations of the Pastor's wife in church, barely a week after Herbert's family's disaster, I just shook my head and scrolled past.

Never seen such kind of selfishness and insensitivity in my life.

Oh now you recognise the difference between a pastor and an ordinary member but you don't seem to understand the difference between an ordinary member and a prominent member and financier??

My brother, no too carry your church denomination for head o. There are thousands out there, so na you go explain and defend tire without evidence. Like Wigwe, as soon as you leave this world, your church denomination dies with you. As a matter of fact, all those RCCG buildings and banners, drum sets, keyboard, your church offering box grin will be acquired by bandits and other anti Christ agents by the time the genuine Christians are gone.

The Wigwe's family and relatives have reacted appropriately. God will not be agree if they decide to leave RCCG to another denomination to serve the same living God.

Don't be too hard on yourself and don't try too hard to defend worldliness. Defend your faith - the Christian faith instead.

But they carried out business as usual. This birthday party was already planned before the tragedy struck, it's not as if it just came up. If they chose to make it a lavish one, that's their business. Whether they celebrate the birthday or not will not bring back the dead.

How do people like u reason.... u are comparing birthday celebrations to bank activities... did anyone complain about them still running their church activities ?? They were meant to cancel that event ...maybe push it for next year ... that's a church for goodness sake , not a club

from this statement, the church acted poorly. They should have cancelled such lavish birthday and bare the cost.

Did the bank suspend activities following the death of their boss? So the pastor should suspend his own activities because 3 members died. The birthday party was about a week after the deaths, you can imagine how much that must have gone into the planning. The death of the members of the church is very painful but life must go on
Ordinary birthday can be postponed. That man was among the pillars of that church. Its not the 10 10 naira people donate in offering that make these pastors rich. Don't be surprised that family sponsored that birthday party.
Five respect to whom respect is due.
As for the bank, it is a business entity. Birthday party is just personal enjoyment.
Wonder why he can't do that after lent. Our people with pepper dem attitude is what has crippled this country

Hmm. Obviously, you spew this trash because you have not lost someone so dear to you. I pity you and the kind of heart you have. In the US, when Koby Briant died in similar circumstances, NBA Games were postponed in honour of his passing. You compare a bank to a church and you want the bank to close down as a mark of mourning because in your gullible mind, banks and churches are the same abi? Let the banks close for a day and churches as well and let me see which one is more important. Am sorry for people who think like you and the generations they would bring forth. Nigerians, you see that these churches and the political class are one and the same. Smh
