I don't like this man much (maybe because of his association with his Godfather in Aso Rock), but it seems he is the only governor who is trying to combat the hardships that have plagued Nigerians. He consistently implements new policies, some of which other governors haven't even considered.

It might be in everyone's interest in Lagos to work with him, as he appears receptive to new ideas (for tackling hunger and starvation).

I don't seems to get one thing. What is the matter with our government especially the southern ones.

How can you rely on someone who is using irrigation to plant to supply you what you could have commercialized in swampy areas.

You sent ahead to invest in rice mill and continue to sell cultivatible lands to developers . Can you eat all the poorly built houses now, over priced and fitre slums ?

I knew it that they kebbi people will show you paper one day and they will hold you to ransom..

Well it's not too late , something still be done , that's if you want to learn

Stop everything else and tackle food security! Stop making excuses. Use all the powers at your disposal to end this food crisis!

Knee jerk and clearly not well thought out.

1) why build a rice mill if you have no feedstock?
2) why import rice with scarce forex when you should be encouraging people to farm local products?

That's the irony... He plans to import paddy, then process to rice... Won't it still be foreign rice?

Why not allow importation of bags of rice, which will invariably be cheaper?

Another white elephant project

Another lost investment

When rice isn't gari

Build factory for casavva processing our comparative advantage, instead wasting public funds on crop which the whole sw can't guarantee 1tonne

The agroecological requirement for sufficient rice planting isn't nigeria climate

And rice is the main staple food

Open border for rice importation

Jester

Which northern paddy what's the quantity of their produce, is it even enough for rice mills in Kano

If they luckily fix insecurity today, and bikoharam stops killing rice farmers and destroying their farms

Will you grow rice today and harvest even within a month?

Sanwo-Olu is lying that rice is not growable in the South. It grows very well. For example, Ebonyi state grows and mills thousands of tonnes of rice yearly. The money Umahi wasted on building their white elephant project airport would have bought have bought hundreds of tractors, harvesters, threshers, build local dams, irrigation system for all year farming and set up mini mills in many communities.

I did hustle back in the day as a mobile rice thresher operator. I hired a locally fabricated thresher from one guy who is an Agricultural Engineer and fabricates machines. I hired from him during the rice harvesting season in Anambra rice growing communities, I will carry it to farms with Okada and couple it there, fill the 4 litres tank of the thresher and would operate it for a total of 8hrs which the petrol would cover. I used to thresh heaps of rice stalks already harvested and we get about 30 bags of rice paddies of 100kg each. Sanwo-Olu is yanning dust!

please can you introduce me to the thresher fabricator? I farm rice in the south east

Where's 'lake rice'? Is Lagos not donating money, while kebbi donates land to grow rice anymore?
Dey play.

Meanwhile the imota rice mill is not supposed to be sited in Lagos in the first place. There are states where rice is suitably cultivated, like Niger, Nasarawa, ebonyi, Enugu, Benue, taraba and so on, where such industry is ought to be sited

Anything they can do to flood the market with foodstuffs is acceptable. Government should allow for importation of grains and staple food to cushion the severe shortages

Just mention one Governor who is doing smarter than Sanwo Olu. Anambra is about to go learn ICT from Lagos. Oyo was helped by Lagos during the Ibadan explosion. Lagos partners with food-producing states in the North for food production.

Name just one Governor who is at par with Sanwo Olu and state what things the Governor has done that wouldn't have been copied from the Lagos policies.
