How Did Amina Overcome her Self-Doubt to Pursue her Photography Passion?

A lady by the name of Amina who was once a 25years old struggling photographer who thought she was meant to be unseen or unrecognised. Moreover, her sick mother required much attention and as such she had little time or energy for her passion.
However, one day while she was randomly walking down the streets with her camera Amina stumbled upon an exhibition presenting the works of Sophia Rivera – this legendary artist. Sophia’s pieces were like a punch in the gut each portraying its story so powerful that they made Amina cry.
While transfixed by the vibrant colours and emotions emanating from the canvas, Amina felt someone tap on her shoulder; it was Sophia herself, wearing a warm smile with kind eyes.
In a low tone she said: “Amina you have talent but no one else will see your real potential if you continue doubting yourself.”
These words reignited something which Amina had ceased holding out hope for. Since then, she swore never again to be crippled by fear and self-doubt.
Her art consumed her, and she put all her emotions into each scene that she captured.
However, the road ahead was difficult yet she faced rejection, financial struggles and overwhelming self-doubt. Every time a challenge came on her way; Amina revealed an unknown power and toughness from inside. That is how Amina started to celebrate herself through images.
Amina’s work began to get noticed by others slowly but sure. The enthusiasm and truth in her photos were recognised by people for the first time. She even sold some prints, did gigs and had her own exhibition.
Today, when Amina rethinks back at her journey from hopelessness to determination, she is thankful for overcoming every barrier. Because it was those same tests that made of her what she is currently: an unyielding artist who cannot be stopped. All these changes were as a result of one meeting – the day when Sophia Rivera first appeared before Amina’s eyes.
