USD exchange rate has drop from 1900 to roughly 1500, why is the price of commodity and products still on the rise.

The price should be stable for now, then should start dropping too.

Isn't it guys?

What is why having sound knowledge about the after effects of monetary and fiscal policies. It isnt the price of dollar alone that always triggers increamenet of prices. It is more about fear, greed and inflation. Thats why when government makes policies that triggers these things, it jerks up price but greed retains the hike in price.

Raising interest rate to about 23% and cash reserve ratio to 45% by cardoso has made it difficult for manufacturer to be able to access liquidity to fund their business.

The cost of borrowing has increased and for those who have borrowed at 19%, their payment schedule has been reviewed upwards.

Nigeria's problems is hydra headed and not just hinged on Fx alone.

Companies will either downsize or fold up as the business environment heats up.

Government is also not allowing manufacturers breath as tariffs on imported raw materials are being jerked up by customs every week.

With CRR at 45%, Cardoso's MPC intends mopping up excess liquidity from circulation thereby decreasing consumer spending, decrease demand for goods and services and thereby cause prices to fall but this only works in the textbook as all the previous hikes in MPRs and CRR have all worsens inflation.

Someone needs to think outside the box for these Lagos whizzkids.

You can't say dollar has crashed...at what price are we talking about?

Before the price of things will come down...dollar must go back to #500
