Okay, since they've now been reduced to "starving animalistic humans" it would be ok for those same people to start looting Igbo businesses right?

You all won't condemn something that's obviously wrong, simply because it suits your political claims and offers you a platform for 'I told you so' comments. Tomorrow, if they start looting Igbo businesses, kindly maintain your stand. Adios. ✌🏾

You can gaslight and muddle around all you want but it don't change nothing. The government is the cause of all this and every region is affected. It was in the East a father killed his son cos of food, ordinary food o, what does that tell you? What father in his right senses will do that? Do you know what that man will be going through now? I'm sure he had no intention of killing his boy but anger induced by hunger can turn a man to an animal. I wonder if you're a Man, I'd understand a woman whipping up emotional and illogical sentiment like this to defend her action as they are averse to accountability but if you're a Man then I feel sorry for ur family if you have one. Leave politics that's given you little to nothing and face reality. The government led by Tinubu is turning people to monsters, all of us whether Agbado, Atikulated or Obidient are feeling it alike, whether rich or poor. And if we fail to hold the government accountable and curb this menace then it will be scary for everyone alike. A hungry man don't give a Bleep about nothing but a succor to his hunger and if he sees you have it, he'll do anything to take it away from you at that moment. That's why even in America where basic amenities is readily available there's a lot of grants, food subsidy and food stamps, child support as well none of which we have in this country but your problem and all you see in all of this is Obidients happy that Tinubu has been a failure so far lol. Igbo this, Igbo that as if it's Igbo that's ruling Nigeria. You'll still blame Igbo for failing to satisfy ur wife in the bedroom, nonsense!

Stop talking like an illiterate! Didn't you do Economics in school? You've never been around a business area or done business urself huh? Supply and Demand is averse to garri according to you now huh? Inflation is hitting everything, Naira keeps depreciating and you expect garri price not to appreciate huh? So when and if the farmers sell it to you below what they should, they'll go on to get fuel, light, cars, clothes, food, health care, school fees at a cheaper rate cos they sold their garri at a cheaper rate innit? Pls learn. I hate seeing trash like this esp from youths.

I know what you are saying but they took it too far.

Let me explain how wicked we are. I will use the example of pure water. The wholesale price of a bag of pure water was N300 per bag and it was retailed for 4 sachet at N100. Just because the price went up to N350 per bag, some retailers started selling one sachet for N50. Is this not wickedness.

I understand the principle of demand and supply. But we are just too wicked in Nigeria.

I bet you, if western countries decide to process Garri and sell to us, we will buy it at cheaper price than the locally processed Garri.

Stay there and be looking for who to blame for the insensitive on the part of government. Since they have decided to turn majority of Nigerians to zombies, zombies they shall get.

You've written with wisdom. 99% of those supporting the looting are Obi supporters who are hell bent on proving that Tinubu was a bad choice, hence the events unfolding. While I don't think Tinubu was our best choice, supporting such indiscipline would only lead to further chaos.

These same set of people would blame the government for insecurity if it happened to them and that shows you the kind of toxic politics most obidients are into...

The data online proves you're denying facts. Aisha Yesufu was busy claiming it's hunger that's making people loot and you're here forming 'nsogbu nsogbu, obident soldier'. Do I even like Tinubu's presidency? NO, but y'all have constituted the largest nuisance online since the elections.

No matter how much you try to deny it, most of you claiming that people are hungry and justifying the looting are obi supporters trying hard to prove that Tinubu was a bad choice, forgetting that it could happen to you tomorrow.

what difference does it make if they condemn it or not?

Majority of the places these lootings are happening are APC strongholds.

The people doing these are not naira landers.

Condemning them or not won’t change anything.

People are taking the normal reaction to your action of voting in incompetent people to power due to tribalism and religious sentiments.

Talk to the government you rigged in to do the right thing and stop coming here to gaslight people.

I bet you, if western countries decide to process Garri and sell to us, we will buy it at cheaper price than the locally processed Garri.

I understand what you're trying to say but you have to consider a lot of factors involved too.
A woman that sells pure water will always want to make the most out of her business. She has dreams too, she wants nice things too just like the multi millionaire importer. So in the case where the goods she get at #300 before is now sold for #400 she 'll make adjustment too to meet up. She has needs and bills too. She 'll buy garri and she understands that whatever price she got it before won't be the same just like her pure water. Phcn has been increasing tarrifs for what reason exactly considering that there's been no improvement in power and somehow she still has to pay for it, Did you consider PHCN wicked too? The best that can be done to checkmate her is to get a competition that will sell same pure water for #30 to #40 a sachet then she knows she either bring her price down or go out of business. Her choice!

Importation of garri will provide competition for local producers and will always be less cheaper for obvious reasons. Look at rice for example. Imported rice is far better than our local rice but the price is almost the same cos of cost of production despite being of less quality and unhealthy. This is not the fault of the producers but the government.
I did foodstuffs business during my youth service in Katsina and I got to understand a lot of things about business in general. The government refusal to allow importation of food and at the same time failing to provide basic support and friendly environment for local production will make things hard for the citizens and that's what the government is doing.

My point is that this isn't the period for people to start blaming the government for the looting. We must first condemn the act before it spreads. When you blame the govt instead of condemning it, it sends a message that these acts are justified. Those trucks and warehouses that were looted belong to business owners who are also struggling to keep their businesses afloat.

If, God forbid, your own shop or warehouse was looted empty, you definitely wouldn't claim it's because people are hungry, you would see it as the evil that it is and that's my point.

While you are partly right, one key part you missed is that a hungry man at the point of death will defy any rules.

If the government of the day does not act swiftly, I am afraid YOUR FEARS WILL COME TRUE. It will be a free for all …. Survival!!!!

madam's assertion is that someone that is hungry cannot remove all doors, all windows and gates.
said its driven by criminal minds (community youths) are suspect master minders

She proffered solutions: all those involved to be brought to book
Reinforce security around all warehouses
Reconstruct the warehouse including all offices, gates, etc.

From her assertion, she does not understand that food means life and that a man could do anything to fight for life for which gates and windows could be the least.

Secondly, her solution does not address the root cause, so it remains futile.

Let those useless government you are supporting continue to sit down and watch without doing anything.

For 9 months, no serious moves trusted by the people to change what is going on.

Let the blame game continue, since that's the only thing they came to do in government.

Go through my previous posts again and see if I'm trying to justify the economic situation or if I'm asking everyone to condemn the looting and prevent a spread of such nasty acts of indiscipline...

Again you can keep gaslighting and fooling around but it won't change the truth. We don't share same sentiment whatsoever with ur political and tribal bigotry and bias. You've repeatedly mentioned Obidients and Igbos in ur post, directly pointing fingers and blaming them and somehow leave out the government u love so much who are the actual cause of the looting and nasty act of indiscipline. You're very callous being and in as much as I won't see you as an enemy, I'll won't want anything to do with you either.
You want Obidients to collectively say something like, oh, we know y'all are hungry but we don't give a damn about that and condemn y'all for looting a government ware house to sooth ur hunger, go and get a non existent job instead and wait to be paid before you feed. This is what you want huh? So the looters and those blaming the government instead of the looters are all Obidients against Tinubu and cos I refuse to be bias and myopic like you, you try to gaslight me with "when they start looting Igbo people shop and houses". Lol.
Get ur meds or whatever will keep you sane cos you're loosing it. We blame the government for failing to play it's part leaving people with no choice but to engage in animalistic behaviors such as the man that killed his own son cos of food. I mentioned this to let you know that your gaslighting holds no water cos you're playing a tribal card in a case that's general to the country. Every region and tribe is going through it and I put it to you that if any warehouse comes to the notice of people in the East they 'll go for it and loot the whole damn thing and I believe this will make you sleep better this night.

No right thinking person will support looting of property. However, the current economic policies by the government brought us to this point. Unless the government takes urgent measure to ensure food availability, the country will descend into chaos.

In as much I don't support criminality, still doesnt say we should not say the truths. The government brought it upon the land because it wasn't this bad. You will agree with me that an hungry man is an angry man. That this could not be done by an hungry man is an ignorance opinion of a person that hasn't been in a situation of life and death that would never know the origin of that LAST MINUTE ENERGY to fight to live.

Your assertions are on point, but our condemnation of these act of lootings by the masses won't solve or prevent such from happening. My heart goes out to business men and women that will be at the receiving end of these wave of pandemic.
My brother, this is a serious pandemic oh and if the government doesn't sit up and do the needful, I am afraid of what will be left of the country.
Things have seriously gotten out of hand.
