Payslip is not a Determinant for a candidate's Salary.

A lot of organizations still practice the act of asking candidates for their payslips to verify if they truly are earning what they claim to earn or know what to pay as remuneration.

It is advisable that employers should have detailed working salary grades and bands for their employees based on experiences, skills, and other necessary factors which will guide what budget they give to everyone that comes into the organization.

Truth is No quality candidate comes cheap.

A lot Candidates are earning below the industry standards, basing their remuneration on their previous pay would only be short-changing them. If your organizations can afford to pay well please do so and stop asking for payslips.

There are cases where a candidate state his/her salary expectation and then recruiters tell them, they don't earn so much currently why do they want to earn such an increase? Such statement is wrong in all ramifications.

Negotiate with your candidates based on their skills and experience considering the current industry standards for such professions and the expertise they bring to the organization, leave their previous payslips out of the discussion. copied

You cannot look your boss in the eye and tell him/her this when he/she wants to hire a new staff undecided. If he/she demands for this you will ensure the prospective hire complies or else you look for another candidate.
