Free Medical Outreach: Ovia North East LGA Vice Chairman, Hon. Efosa Uyigue joined First Lady Dr. Mrs. Betsy Obaseki for the official kick off of the free Medical Outreach by Dame Edith Okowa in Irrua Specialist Hospital


Edo State First lady in the company of the Vice Chairman of Ovia North East LGA, Hon. Efosa Uyigue and others in her entourage joined Dame Edith Okowa, the wife of the former Governor of Edo State, H.E Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to kick off the 4-day free medical outreach organised by Her Excellency, Dame Edith Okowa in Irrua Specialist Hospital in Edo State.

The medical outreach which began on the 5th of march, 2024 will be spanning till 8th of march, 2024 featuring free Eye check up, free Eye surgeries, free medications, free glasses and follow up cares.

According to Her Excellency, Dame Edith Okowa, the services are part of her contributions to society. She stated that the free medical services were run in the Twenty five (25) LGA's in Delta State when she served as the First Lady and felt the need to extend it to Edo State where she hails from.

Edo State First Lady, Dr. Mrs. Betsy Obaseki, who also supported Dame Okowa with over a thousand bags of rice for all who will benefit from the free eye medical treatment, also commended her gestures and assured the state government's contribution in ensuring that the processes run smoothly in the state.

The Vice Chairman of Ovia North East LGA, Hon. Efosa Uyigue, who was in the entourage of the Edo State First Lady, also commended the efforts of Her Excellency, Dame Edith Okowa, for extending the free services to Edo State. According to her, she's proven to be the true daughter of Edo.

The free medical services are for all persons with eye defects, and the process is credible and safe for all patients with issues.
