In the not-so-distant past, children with disabilities faced significant barriers when it came to accessing quality education.



The prevailing belief was that these children were unable to learn, and therefore, keeping them apart from their peers seemed like the logical approach.



However, the Education for All Handicapped Children Act, later renamed the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), revolutionized the education landscape by mandating inclusive education for all students, regardless of their disabilities.
