I have 500GB Toshiba external harddrive. Few days back I connected it to my laptop and gave me error message. The system asked me to format the hard drive. I was able to extract important files from it through Power data recovery software. At the end i set to format but it says the system cannot format the harddrive or could not be completed. What else can I do? Thanks |

kindly copy and paste exact error message you get when you try to format. |

The message I get is "Windows was unable to complete the format" I have tried it on 2/3 computers. Same message. I used Window 7. |

Connect ur harddrive 2ur system n boot with ur syst a CD Just like when u want 2format ur system,format it from there n see if that works, |

obviously the partition table is bable is bad or bad sectors, do a low level format using DARIK'S BOOT AND NUKE software or ACTIVE KILLDISK to do the format and for the badsectors repair, use this lovely tool HDD REGENERATOR(not the free version) i have all these tools so u can always contact me, 08061679732 |
