Kebbi Opens 69 Feeding Centres by ManirBK: 10:11pm On Mar 15 |
As Muslims observe the Ramadan (fasting) period, the Kebbi State Government has opened 69 feeding centres across the 21 Local Government Areas. Special Adviser to Governor Nasir Idris on Religious Affairs, Malam Imran Usman-Abdur-Rahman, made this known during a briefing in Birnin Kebbi yesterday. He said, “Governor Idris has authorised that three feeding centres for Ramadan breakfast be opened in each of the 21 local government areas of the state, beginning from the first day of the Ramadan, to assist people.” Usman-Abdur-Rahman said the governor also released funds for complete renovation of Sheik Abbas Jega Jumu’at Mosque at Rafin Atiku, Birnin Kebbi, including internal furnishing and installation of security lights. “The governor had wanted the work to begin immediately, but the Iman of the Mosque suggested that the action be deferred until after Eid-el- fitir, because of the ongoing Ramadan Tafsir,” he said. https://thenationonlineng.net/kebbi-opens-69-feeding-centres/ https://sunnewsonline.com/ramadan-kebbi-govt-opens-69-feeding-centres/ mynd44 oam4j lalasticlala seun nlfpmod fergie001 Sissie |

That's good of them Let's hope it will not be discriminatory on ground of religion I just read the Op and the gov is opening one per LG. Given the size of LGs, this sounds audio at worst or badly planned at best So you expect people to travel from their villages down to the LG headquarters everyday in the morning and evening with the cost of transport? Haba!! Why are our politicians like dis 1 Like |

The way governments across Nigeria are being EXCESSIVELY socialistic when it comes to Muslims and Ramadan is concerning. Feeding them and subsidizing their hajj at the expense of other Nigerians would make sensible folks think Nigeria is an islamic state. 1 Like |

ManirBK: With a land mass of 38000sqkm and 21LGs that's an average of 1500sqkm per LG. With 3 feeding centres per LG, that means some citizens will travel an average of 300km to get to the nearest feeding centre. This is in one of the poorest states in the country with the lowest HDI and a population of over 5m. You really think nothing is wrong? 1 Like |

This is complete nonsense. The people do not need handouts. It's just another control mechanism by our evil politicians to tighten their grip on the citizenry. There are other religious faiths and animists in Kebbi, what about them? When you're done feeding them and sending them to Makka with a small fraction of the money you collect on their behalf, most of which you steal, they are thrown back into abject poverty, for life. Used and discarded. Provide people with proper education and productive environment so they can take care of themselves. They do not need your poisoned Greek gift. 1 Like |
