Anyone with a brain knows that Lagos would manage her infrastructural challenges much better with the inspired leaders she has had since 1999 if she had an optimal population of 8-9 million.

New York and London, both much bigger than Lagos, have population of around 9 million. Would New Yorkers and Londoners not be protesting vehemently if they suddenly had to deal with a population of 23 million?

Meanwhile the opposite is the case with Nigeria where Yorubas tolerate huge daily inward migration into Lagos only for the ingrates who came to swell the population of Lagos to an infeasible and unmanageable 23 million to always be the ones castigating Lagos the loudest.

Abeg, all should answer their father’s name so that Lagos can be severely decongested. We will then see whether it will not be much easier to manage waste, traffic, provision of utilities (water plus electricity etal) , road maintenance, flooding , reduction of slums and eyesore ghettos etc.
