The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it will no longer accredit civil society organisations and other bodies as observer groups if they fail to submit their observation reports of previous elections. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2024/03/well-no-longer-accredit-observer-groups-that-dont-submit-reports-inec/amp/ 4 Likes

What did INEC do with the EU, Commonwealth and other observer groups that submitted damning verdict against it in the last election? A criminal organisation trying desperately to be relevant. 2 Likes |

INEC is just terrible! You wont give observers accreditation because they fail to submit a false report you want them to write about the elections abi? INEC is lucky Nigeria is a peaceful country and what happen was just between the yorubas and igbos, if it was against the fulani/Hausas, by now one or five INEC offices in the North for don catch fire by now! 4 Likes |

Though I don't appreciate how Yakubu collected billions of naira and eventually failed to implement direct transmission of data from the polling booths to the INEC server, I think this is a welcome development. Listen, thieves and rogues cannot easily beat technology. They must adapt too. The Senate is already working on making sure direct transmission of votes is the way forward. That election Tinubu won is a stepping stone towards the right direction. He may have won that, but he will do a lot more to win 2027 if the law accepts only direct transmission of votes. Politicians will have to come up with another strategy to cheat. Of course, Nigerians always come up with ideas to beat the system, but it will not be the situation where they get inside a room and thumbprint massively to favour a candidate. Yabuku will realise in the future the damage he did in the last election, but he can redeem himself if he is the one conducting the 2027 election. |

Both observer & INEC are mad. The last election has many irregularities. So make una stop wasting money and let's re-orientate many before next election. That ll stop like 20-30 percent electoral problem.
