Why Are There No Retaliatory Attacks By Soldiers In The North? by floret23(f): 4:36pm On Mar 24 |
Anytime soldiers are attacked in the southern part of Nigeria, the whole army barracks close by will go to the community where the incidence happened to cause mayhem killing scores of innocents indiscriminately, burning as many houses as possible and displacing thousands of people without restraint. In facts, in the past an ex-president had instructed the army on different to destroy different towns and villages because soldiers were attacked there. It's so unfortunate that at times attack helicopters were used to bomb hell out of the surrounding villages whenever foot soldiers find it difficult to penetrate. The ones that occur in Delta and Bayelsa states are the most recent. It's sad that this barbarical behavior is proudly supported by politicians at all levels. However the situation is different in the northern part of the country. Terrorists (bandits and Fulani herdsmen) kill soldiers for fun (most of which didn't get to the media) and the worst thing Nigerian army would do was to retreat. I have never heard of soldiers killing people and burning down the whole town for the sin of a handful of criminals in Northern Kaduna, Bornu or Zamfara. There are many videos of soldiers being harassed, intimidated and chased away in the North. Drivers can come down from their vehicles and dismantle military checkpoints. Something that is tantamount to suicide if it is done in the South. I wish to understand the rationale behind this double standards. Are Southerners less human or second class citizens? Who actually owns Nigeria? Please note: I do not support killing of soldiers or policemen. My view is that vulnerable people in the society should not be hold responsible for the sin of others who are mostly machineries to politicians. Only the finger that sins should be cut. 2 Likes |

There have been several retaliatory attacks. Perhaps you don't read the news. Google will be very useful here. floret23:

The CHOSEN ones suffer the most of wickedness. This is a universal law of nature. The southern resources are mostly located on the lands of Niger Delta and Biafra Land. The rest are wickedly oppressive of the chosen one. The most useless buffoons are the core Northern space. 2 Likes |

When Gen. Ihejirika was COAS, he authorized junior officers to deal with the villagers in Borno each time Boko Haram members killed their men and disappeared into the villages. Later, Northern elders complained to Jonathan and he fired Gen. Ihejirika. But then, attacking everyone and destroying people because you lost your men makes no sense, whether it is done in the South or North. |

floret23: You are a tribalist. That is why you typed this garbage. Literally THOUSANDS of militants have been killed in the north in numerous attacks including by helicopters and fighter jets, in the last few years. Boko Haram used to control territory and hoist their flags in parts of the north till the military trounced them in various battles and raids. |
