Oga calm down. Combine all the big men in Igbo land and Yoruba land, add South-south join, all their worth never reach just 5 coded aboki trillionaires in the north. Many of you don't know anything.

I watched a Korean movie on Netflix (we're all dead) their high school kids were making drones. And to them it was nothing. Most of these phones and other gadgets we worship here, you'd be shocked that even their high school kids use them and they don't make noise about it.

Here in Nigeria all we do is to flunt what other hard working countries make. In fact you're classified as a big boy whenever you publicly flunt gadgets that even teenagers over there can easily afford.

Do you think if innoson had a car assemble plant in Korea, Korean owners of his cars would be squealing like coven witches for owning an African car?

A lot of Africans are still suffering from slave mentality. Regardless of how wealthy they are.

Oga the flaunting is not about the gadget per say ... value (worth) is what socialite flaunts

in korea, those gadget are relatively affordable ... with a suitable purchasing power unlike naija

Ten years bawo!
Have you heard of the Nothing phone before. That's class. I'd prefer a Sony Xperia 1V because its more than practical for cinematographic usage and adaptable for other purposes. Imagine how so called big boys carrying a cumbersome gadget with a screen the size of a Platypus head. I had to go dump my Samsung tablet as it's just heavy to manoeuvre when layed back.

Have seen someone with Torchlight phone richer than who has 1.5m phone...
Exactly. There are several billionaires in dollars who don't see the need to be in possession of these smartphones made mostly for geeks. But in a colonized carving like Nigeria, it is a symbol of status where only 5℅ of it complete function is only been harnessed.

na only black people naim get this kind wretched mentality.

This is how poor people show wealth. Sick destitutes.
I just watched the video now and I was giggling. Chai!
It's even the Kiss Daniel music playing thats annoying. No offense to the artist, but why sing about 'My G, you don't have money'. In real Yoruba value and ethics. Money is not the priority. But now that we are all swallowed in this capitalistic world of material chasm. It's a whacky race, and many with no proper orientation would bloodied their hands just to that cash. It's insane. On a norms, say 1$ was N25.38K (twenty five naira thirty eight Kobo). How much would an iPhone 15pro max or Samsung Fold cost in Naira ? Flagship phones among many other importables would have this icon of exorbitant associated mentally to the rich in Nigeria.

Factfinder1:
Low self esteem

Poverty mentality.

Having money doesn't make you rich.

Wealth is of the mind
How many of our so called rich, elites, big men and women has genuinely ever done something innovative or used their billions to invent paradigm shifting formulae or technology/medical solution. All they know is blight consumerism, gloat in their materialistic wealth, flaunting of exquisite cars with components that has to be imported if it's due for replacement, and thats the mentality they have instilled on the youths from Millenials to GenZs. Anything to keep that class struggle ever apart.

Yeah, some may argue it is the same in abroad, but what they always forget to note is that - in that same abroad, their people are relatively well off as their are numerous programs made available by their government for their citizens to utilize in order to achieve anything or purchase anything, so who wan dey intimidate who?

Maybe you should reason from another angle. This could be a subtle advert, since one of them seated is a Samsung ambassador.

Then talking about achievement, they don't need to show off a phone that has a very minimal percentage to their net worths. These are actually CEOs.
At bolded, which of the following best describe the act been demonstrated in the video with Samsung Fold

A. Marketing
B. Showing off
C. Exhibiting
D. Presenting

Unless you don't live in Nigeria. You won't understand how the rich flaunt material things to impress intimidate other folks

How is it your business how she can afford it, whatever you're thinking should also tell you that while some are into the Nigeria version of hook up, some are knee deep into Only Fans, while others are making helluva cash off tech. For as long as she is earning it and not swallowing some sinator for N5M per month allowance, who is to judge?

It is low self esteem.
We need to capture and educate them from the cradle else they will end up like it.
Its psychology. No good country ignore psychology. That why it's hot cake in developed countries. We also assume the ways we train kids are the best. Our method produces adults with low self esteem no matter how rich and connected the person is. We neglect child psychology so much. How can we grow.
