It is a well known fact that corruption has taken a very big grip on every facet of our darling country. Anywhere you turn to, you would be amazed, or rather surprised. No! Using the word "surprise." Is an injustice to the word. The corruption in this part of the world is so glaring that a new born baby would shout "na wa ooo"

Well, academic and education aspect is what I'm going to write on in this my essay "The corruption in Nigerian Higher Institution." The lecturers in these institutions maybe due to their low income or their greed, propel students to pay them money in order to give them marks after a test or examination. The dullard students are ecstatic and fantasies about getting a good grade, without putting the adequate work (studying, reading and attending lectures) to get those merited grades. Alas! The brilliant ones are not left out either.

The lecturer would twist the test or examination questions with a lot of grammatical jargons to confuse the students. After the examination is over, the students would not have any choice than to wander around the corridor of the lecturer, fuming and fretting inside, but bowing to the lecturer's will. The lecturers don't really care if the students had the financial capacity of or not, what they are after is for their palm to be greased from the students they claimed to teach moral doings.

A lecturer in one of the renowned polytechnic in the country has a book where he documents the amount paid by students for any grades they want. Whenever a student visit his little abode, he would yank the documents towards him and the students would point at his preferred grade and payment would be made by the student. The lecturer would collect his Matric number and return the favour. It is like "scratch my back, I scratch yours."

The lecturers oftentimes come with flamboyant lifestyle in order to intimidate the students to do their biddings. They tell different stories, about their influence, but it still baffles me why they collect money from their students.


Though, no body is holy but if someone is preaching morality, he or she should be able to abide by it but no, the lecturers would teach morals in class but get behind to collect bride.

One of my lecturers once said "believe not everything thy preacher saith, for he sayeth things life an Angel, but liveth like mortal."

Some of the lecturers can't get their vision tools from the alluring body of female students. They ask these female students for sexual companionship after the examination for mark dispensation, which favours the female counterpart mostly. It is hard to see a female lecturer running helter skeleter for a male student.


Students are tied down with excessive jargons called courses. They are made to learn numerous things in the school, which to me and like-minded people is a waste of time, resources and energy. Because at last the paper obtained from these institutions are not put into a profitable doings.


A top lecturers advised us to learn a skill, that certificate is useless. If certificate is useless why are they still running institutions? Why are they still collecting money from struggling students to pass them?

If I calculate the money I'm spending on education, it is way too much and they are still pressing my neck day in day out. Every lecturers now sell course materials at exorbitant price. Some of them made it compulsory.

All the money I spent in school, if I had used it to fuka fuka I would have been a happy fela, because nothing is sweeter than pussy. So should I quit education now and pursue pussy or I should I continue with the rotten educational system?
