From small research - It could be many things. Pulmonary edema, myocardial infarction, seizure-related, some respiratory diseases and some drugs can cause it.

I was thinking maybe drugs, but based on the article, it does not seem like someone would go into his car to use drugs...so it must be myocardial and I think he went to his car to relax when he started feeling it instead of calling the wife that they should go straight to the emergency. One of our association members was feeling light headed...called her friend, and they went straight to the hospital...she collapsed there and woke up 3 days later from the coma. She is still recovering in rehab. Please when you start feeling funky, don't play God...go to the doctor.
